Steel is quickly going up on the old theater site and concrete cutting is enlarging the opening around the crane extending down to parking level 3.

New food court seating is complete including many more tables and chairs than the old setting. There's no easy access to the upper deck construction zone so a high capacity mobile crane removed the smaller crane that had been used in steel erection beyond the range of the fixed crane.

Popeye's can refer to either fried chicken or health supplement supply store. Since the unit is between pizza and Thai food, I'm guessing it's the fried chicken.

Probably fried chicken. They're expanding everywhere. There are already locations at Sheppard/Willowdale and Sheppard/Bathurst.

Update:

Occupying the northeast corner of North York's Yonge and Sheppard intersection, RioCan and Kingsett Capital's Yonge Sheppard Centre has dominated the intersection since 1976 when the mixed-use complex opened above the then-new Sheppard subway station. In the decades that followed, taller and denser developments were built in the surrounding area, and the planning principles that guided the design of the shopping, commercial, and residential complex fell out of favour. Now, the Yonge Sheppard Centre is being renovated and expanded in a way that jives with today's understanding of how to make buildings contribute to the city.
