Another month of Toronto city-building, transportation, and real estate talk is now behind us, so we are looking back at what were the hottest stories, project Database files, and Forum discussions from April, 2022.

Our Top Ten News Stories

Our Top Ten this month starts with #16, a planning story for a new tower on Isabella Street that will rise to 62 storeys – if approved. The new building would replace a 14-storey rental tower, and would include replacement units for all tenants currently residing there if they want to return.

16. Capital Developments Proposes 62 Storeys on Isabella Street in Downtown

The rest of our Top Ten list has multiple large proposals, from tall towers to vast master planned communities, and a particular focus on transportation during a time when politicians are scrambling in advance of the June 2 election.

Our Top Ten Database Files

At #11 is CIBC SQUARE, which took a fall, dropping from #8 last month. We might see it make a comeback this month, though, with all of the work going on at the site!

11. CIBC SQUARE

The rest of our Top Ten includes many familiar database files, with the exception of the new additions of East Harbour, Queen and Spadina Station of the Ontario Line, and Lakeside Residences.

Our Top Ten Threads

We start with MCity, which not only has seen a new phase launched recently, but has also seen the first two phases rise high into the sky, overlooking Mississauga.

18. M1 and M2 at MCity

Most of the top half of our Top Ten has remained the same – although CIBC SQUARE shot up to #2, despite slipping off of the database list. The latter half of the Top Ten Threads list includes all-new projects that haven't made it on in recent months, offering a nice change!
