If they have another one nearly ready, it will be an interesting decision on whether you deliver it in 2016 (if possible) or wait until January 3. Emotionally for Toronto it might be nice to show them that they didn't just "meet" the 2016 revised goal but they surpassed it....but with the aggressive promise for next year it would make far more practical sense for them to make the next delivery very early in 2017.

I expect they're getting into factory maintenance mode now (line shutdown over the holidays to clean/maintain/repair the factory and big equipment used).

Don't expect another delivery until mid-January but between Waterloo, Metrolinx, and TTC we'll probably be sick of hearing about deliveries by April.

You don't deliver this year. You pad next year. Both for more error room. And to allow an easier beat on next year's target if all goes well.

It depends on how the BBD execs' bonuses were crafted. Usually bonuses have an "exceeded target" level that gives you a bigger payoff. The 31st car delivered might mean money in somebody's pocket.

There may be balance sheet considerations too. (I'm not sure that BBD's fiscal year runs January to December, but if it does....). You get a bit more income in 2016, and you get Goods Produced but Not Sold down a tad. However, considering the net income for 2016 on this project is likely down the tube anyways, better to hold the delivery - and hence the invoice - for 2017 and run up the profit in that year.

Is the 204 they are buying sufficient? Or do they plan to buy more in the future. It's not even a 1:1 replacement. And given the population growth this city has experienced, you'd think they'd have to go at least 1:1 with a larger vehicle.

If not, I'd rather they exercise options and come up with a more realistic ramp for 2018 and schedule through 2020.

From 40 deliveries in 2017 to 76 in 2018? Nonsense.

We're already refurbing some CLRVs and ALRVs. The TTC should simply renegotiate. 60 each in 2018 and 2019 and maybe 30 in 2020 as BBD winds down. That gives use more streetcars, and a more realistic ramp.

The front panel could swing out allowing them to be coupled together. They just haven't pushed it in.
He was referring to the possibility that the photo was doctored to make us believe tha the 30th car has been delivered... which oddly enough does look a bit suspicious....
can anyone confirm if 4430 is indeed on site?

Now that I looked at it carefully, he's right. It is photoshopped. There is no shadow on the front 2 guys.

C'mon, folks, this is absurd! What possible reason would the TTC have to lie about this?

(And there are indeed shadows behind the two front men. For example, look at their legs.)

They aren't lying. They just don't have a photo.

There is no shadow on the car whatsoever. Look at the white part! None for the sign they are holding either. The shadow for those two guys should be long like the other two. The 4430 decal is badly aligned. Heck that the white number decal is applied by the TTC afterwards when it enters service making this photo impossible. BBD never puts the white fleet number decals on.

anyone have a comparison photo of the same angle? So BBr has resorted to doctored propaganda (if the allegations prove true). Nice!

Oh for Pete's sake. Of course they are going to improve a photo that they hope makes it into the media. Maybe the lighting was bad, or there were too many shadows, or something.

If the Ministry issues a photo of Minister Del Duca that they certify has never been photoshopped, does that make his promises believable?

Unless a certain transporter car was sent all the way from Thunder Bay to Toronto with a load of snow, there was a delivery at Hillcrest this morning. I'm confident it was a Flexity. The rest is just PR theatre.

There is no shadow on the car whatsoever.
Yes, there is -- again, look at the legs of the person in the black jacket (look between them, and to the left of them).
None for the sign they are holding either.
Yes, there is -- look to the immediate left of the sign. See the sharp vertical dark area (aka "shadow") on the car?
The shadow for those two guys should be long like the other two.
No, it shouldn't -- the two men on the left are standing right in front of the car, and the lighting is to the right of the scene (as indicated by the long shadows of the other two men), so their shadows should fall right behind them. You shouldn't see much shadow. But again, there is shadow where one would expect, in the space between the legs and car of the man in the black jacket.

Seriously, this kind of conspiracy theory idiocy is insane.
