Menkes Developments and QuadReal Property Group have begun to welcome residents to the Arcadis-designed Festival Condominiums within the expansive 75-acre Assembly Park in Vaughan, not far west of Vaughan Metropolitan Centre subway station. While the first suites are complete, construction continues on the next phases of the development, with one crane still in place above the 55-storey northeastern tower.

Just three months since UrbanToronto’s last update in August, the crane over the 48-storey tower has come down, while yet another crane has been installed for the following phase to the south named Encore at Brav., Encore will boast three towers ranging from 36 to 45 storeys, designed by Turner Fleischer Architects.

 

Flying over to the topped-off western structures that are now beginning to occupy, we see the 59-storey tower on the left and the 48-storey tower on the right, with the latter’s notched massing taking an elongated plus sign-shaped form. The taller tower's upper floors are notched in two corners, while its balconies are parted to reveal tinted glazing sheathing the suites. Meanwhile, the telescoping arms of Building Maintenance Units are positioned atop both structures, ready for future upkeep.

Descending towards grade, this southeast-facing view showcases the completed cladding along the north and west podium elevations, green roof installations, and beams in place to hold sheltering canopies that wrap around the exterior above the sidewalk. At grade, streetscape improvements are underway, with an excavator active at the northwest corner with both soil beds being prepared for future plantings amidst generous walkways.

The four Festival towers range in height from 135.3m to 189.05m, while Encore at Bravo’s three towers are set to range from 123.35m to 148.85m, collectively housing 4,171 residential units. A central plaza is underway at ground level that will provide a community-oriented public realm for all residents here.
