Who knows:confused: they are probably waiting for the green light on the re-construction of the Bathurst street bridge before proceeding.
Whats up with that......http://urbantoronto.ca/forum/showthread.php/6969-Bathurst-Street-Bridge

During the Cityplace Janes Walk, it was mentioned that the engineers have no idea how to link Bathurst with Fort York, as the change in grade between Bathurst and the existing Fort York Blvd. is too much for TTC streetcars to handle (In case Ft. York/Bremner gets the LRT).

You are only dropping 4-5 feet at Bremner/Ft York intersection and that will not have that great impact on the streetcars of tomorrow. TTC see no issue with this change of grade.

TTC wants to run the Bathurst 519 car along Bremmer to Union Station as well X number car from Long Branch.

The Ft York ramp will be lower to match Bremmer.

That last block of Bremmer could have been raise a few feet with no problem to get near the existing grade.

This was brought up by Councillor Adam Vaughan, not some random person. The development along that stretch was planned before the actual connection to Bathurst, and apparently the drop in elevation will be too steep if it is connected as is.

Well Adam better spent some more time talking to TTC about it as that was not what TTC was telling us and the Waterfront Corporation it could not do.

Going back as far as 2005 while working on all the EA's for transit lines on the waterfront, at no time did TTC stated to us, staff from all levels of the city, Ward councillors and the Waterfront Corp at the various meeting on the Terms of Reference, design stage before going to the public that they had a problem with the new bridge as well the lowering the intersection. They were pushing for the Bremmer line while we saw no need for it as well it would have a major impact on the tunnel section under ACC, especially for operation. Corcord never saw the need for a line here from day one as they saw people using either Bathurst, Spadina or the Harbourfront during the winter months only, since it was a short walk to the core. Concord was forced to go with the current design because of TTC.

TTC rebuilt that track work on the bridge only a year or so ago and they have slow order on that track work today. They even had rebuilt the expansion joints again already.

The earliest this bridge can be rebuilt is 2015, but will there be any money to do it then?

TTC does not want to spend money again on rebuilding Bathurst St and one way not to do it is by saying it cannot operate the new cars on that slope.

Measure the distance from the main bridge to the centre of the intersection and that will tell you what the slope will be.

Nice pics through out RM, looks like this one is ready to roll....knowing CA, they will probably do the dig for both phases at Block-33 even though Spectra phase-2/38 storey hasnt gone into sales yet. Also rumour has Block-37 going into sales at approx. the same time, with ground breaking slated for the fall of 2012.
