Sorry I don't get it. What is it about the window that looks bad? If it's operable window, it can't be a curtain wall, is it the detail? Whats an example of a good window wall?

It's very difficult to make horizontal mullions look good (unless they're deliberately integral to the design motif, as in warehouse/Crittall-style windows), and the vertical mid-window spandrel portions look really bad, too. And there are indeed operable curtainwall window products, though you can also just not pick bad window wall -- Toronto's a little short on good contemporary examples, though the product that aA/Lamb are using at East 55 is pretty darn good:
