I assume Aitken Place park is in East Bayfront. (Aitken Place is on north of railway, in St Lawrence.

Request for Pre-Qualifications (PQ) #2014-12: Aitken Place Park - Landscape Architect & Lead Consultant

Waterfront Toronto (legally known as Toronto Waterfront Revitalization Corporation) is seeking PQ submissions from firms (hereinafter called “Proponents”) with experience in the required disciplines and the required resources, who are interested in participating in a Request for Proposals (RFP) for providing Landscape Architectural Services including the role of Lead Consultant.

Interested Firms who have the requisite experience and resources are invited to submit their proposals for this PQ.

Please note the submission deadline for the PQ is April 24, 2014 before 4 p.m. local time.

Yup. And I bet it's going to Claude Cormier, hahaha. He seems to be doing every other park in Toronto (which is not necessarily a bad thing).

Nope, you've forgotten PFS Studio (Sherbourne Commons), MVVA (Corktown Commons, Canada/Ontario Square) and West 8 (Ontario Place, QQ West)

Every other park seems accurate: Sugar Beach, 3C Waterfront/Whiskey Beach, HtO Park, Berczy Park, Brick Works, Ordnance Triangle, Vaughan Metropolitan Centre, plus smaller plazas like the new project for the Royal Ontario Museum, 300 Front, Four Seasons, Sony Centre, 117 Peter, etc.

I usually like your interventions AoD, but I have to say it's not cute when you (often) reply pedantically to humorous, totally unscientific remarks like mine. Learn to pick your battles.

FNTS:

It's not a battle, it's a statement of facts especially with regards to waterfront developments and WT's choice of landscape architects. Certainly it wasn't a reply with any hostile intent (in which case my "interventions" would hardly be as nearly as benign and neutral in nature).

A continuation of the pathway along the water front.
I realise that the Waterfront Promenade will continue right over to Parliament much of it has already been constructed. I meant the area between the promenade and the Aqualina tower - is it all Aqualina and will all be developed as one phase?

Aitken Place Park (Bayside, STLAi and Thomas Balsey Associates)

The plan will be going to Toronto Design Review panel shortly and then will be presented to the public toward the end of April.

On line comment and plans will be available once release to the public.

Any on line plans are out dated at this time.

Dog park will be part of the design at the north end with a slopping hill toward the lake at about 5% grade, elevated at the north end.

The plan will go under a number of reviews and changes this year, with the final plan decided on before the end of the year with construction taking place in 2016.
