Rob Ford's Toronto

I understand that, but my point was that if a CAT scan found no evidence of cancer on September 11, I sincerely doubt he's had another one since. Or that a previously undetectable tumour could possibly grow that much in a month and a half.

Point accepted, I should have been a little more precise in my response.

Shows how much I know. :-(

That said, I've always wondered how good Rob would even be at noticing symptoms of any kind. Even "clean and sober," he seems to lack any kind of self-awareness, and has probably learned to ignore or mask the vast array of alarming signals his damaged body must be sending to his addled brain every minute of every day.

He went months with a pain in his side.

Ask anyone, especially a doctor when you can safely say you are cancer free. Declarations as such are dependent on the type of cancer and chance of reoccurrence. Anything coming from Robbie's mouth should be vetted by two sources. Reoccurrence for PSC is ~50/50 (?), and that is for a healthy person. Robbie's taxed immune system and weight are significant factors and would increase reoccurrence/complication chances.

After all we have heard about how he is in private, and the consistent confirmations of rumour, I still say there's no cancer. Or it wasn't that kind.

Something's too fishy.

And yes, I do think for the right price or pressure, lots of people would lie. I personally have met some very professional people who have had to do things they didn't want to do.

The latest book revelations are probably embarrassing enough for the family, but it occurs to me that the polls now coming out showing just how damaging the Fords were for getting out the CPC vote might be an even bigger motivation for their typical distraction tactics as regards Slobbie's supposed relapse. After all, that's a real black eye to the Ford "brand," isn't it?

Abject apologies, but I've got a monster head cold and when my mind wanders I don't know where it will go. Lately I've been kinda obsessing about the "Quiet" Ford Bro, Randy. Out of the limelight, never heard from, but "the friendly guy" when he's not chemically supercharged into violent rages. The oldest brother so what's his relationship with Doug like? Doug's the businessman, the entrepreneur, is Randy the low profile "fixer", not the guy that makes the deals but the one that facilitates them? All we know about him is his ancient history of crude and crazed violence, that he's the guy that escorts mom, and the one in the office at Deco. Is he the one that's really takin' care of business?
First born - he would have been forged in fire being the only one Doug Sr. could unleash on. Then he would have been told to fix things for the other kids so the parents could ignore everyone's needs and be outwardly amiable.

Wouldn't be surprised if he was much more than we think.

Maybe he's just in secure hiding from the (now unemployed) Harper gang.

Maybe Rob taught them not to be personally picking up envelopes in parking lots? Sounds like Randy might have developed a skill set that could be useful in their relationships with their "powerful friends in high places". Maybe carry their rifles when they're poaching moose?

My theory is that Randy is a ~65/35 mix of Robbie and Dougie, or rather Robbie is 65% and Dougie is 35% of Randy's personality since he's older . Like Dougie and Robbie, he is a thug, but a thug with a criminal record due to mommy and daddy not being able to cover up his activities. I'm sure this has and is an asset for the Fords.

Doug's fealty to Diane to more than a dutiful son would show to their mom, I think it has a lot to do with his inheritance and access to the trust Diane controls. And yes it is true, we all make poor choices, it's all how we move on from them and hopefully we see them as a learning experience.

I accept your apology? I was making a joke, and evidently not a too convincing one, so all's well. Being obsessed is something I can easily understand, especially about matters like the "Fords", the poster family for all things devious.

Sounds about right. A few people have told me Randy's quite friendly and easy going. So long as he's not on PCP or at Deco I guess.
