Rob Ford's Toronto

Some of the numbers are interesting though I remain very skeptical of Forum. In a three way race this election is taking on the appearance of 2010, with Tory and Chow in the Smitherman and Pantalone roles. If the race remains this close, but Tory retains his significant lead over Chow, will Chow do the honourable thing and bow out? (Something that Pantalone should have done)

This kind of garbage tempts me to respond as though this were the election thread.

Re: Socnacki: I had dealing with him, as councillor, in the late 90s regarding a mid-rise apartment building without a working elevator and containing several disabled tenants. He seemed a bit dull and inexperienced, imho. He accomplished nothing for the tenants which is why I was called in to help. Nice enough chap to chat with; just not with it.

I can't think of one important initiative he has brought forward in the past 1 and a half decades, nor can I recall one issue where he took a strong and principled stand. Sure, he's looking for votes now but what in his record inspires anyone? Simply that he's a decent conservative chap who doesn't spend his life in drunken stupers? Toronto deserves better.

pickles... this post has stuck with me, and even though it should probably be on the mayoral race thread (http://urbantoronto.ca/forum/showthread.php/20317-2014-Municipal-Election-Toronto-Mayoral-Race) i gotta at least say something here.

http://www.soknacki.com/record/ is where he lists his accomplishments, and you are right, none jump out as being truly amazing. but it has me wondering... how long and impressive would the list be for councilors in similar positions for a similar length of time? seriously. i'd love people's thoughts / input on this.

That's because us filthy ttc riders don't deserve sunlight and air. Those are reserved for people with cars.

Not you of course, Parkdale Petunia, but some folks down in the hole don't have regular bathing habits.

Guardian Angels in NYC's "electric sewer".

How is it safe to have that farging icehole roaming TOTD - going into stores and mobs following? Ew it's like we're mercans. Sorry.

Thanks and cheers back. Speaking of Scarborough. I really hope the Super Smash Ford Bros. are only desperately bluffing when they say Scarborough loves them. I was reading an issue of Scarborough Mirror, and it looks like they are turning the pressure. Some past issues criticized Rofo, but still tried to keep a 'balanced, genteel' approach. More recently however, the op-eds and letters from readers are starting to turn. One article even gave a cautious shout out to Andray Domise.

Though...never mind the Scarborough Mirror: what about the "ethnic" media?

one comment is that ward 2 has been a ford ward since 2000, and that mikey will likely win this time.

Will voters in Ward 2 will remember DoFo's handling of the situation on Jeffcoat Dr., and if they do, will it affect their voting - one way, or the other - for MiFo?

"Rob Ford at Taste of the Danforth. Ugh what a circus"

Poor Soks is standing all alone holding up a sign with his name on it. I weep for this city.
