Rob Ford's Toronto

Friday was just as busy actually. There are photos in my thread in the City Photos and Videos section to prove it. It took us a good half hour to find parking. On another note, the final block of every side street both north and south of Danforth were blocked off for local traffic with police guarding the barriers. Ford could have easily been let in by police to park within that space....I can't picture him walking more than a block anyways.

Doesn't everyone know already that the mayor can park wherever he chooses to. If the road is blocked, its blocked for him.

Remember him parking (illegally) next to the First Canadian Place.

I just heard Rob & Doug Ford on their radio show laughing about Rob's behaviour at the Taste of the Danforth. Robo-Flop said something like he had a couple of beers. What a pair of rednecks.

Was Rob Ford Talking About Drugs on the Danforth?

"These words do appear to be uttered by Toronto's mayor and whether Ford raised the issue of drugs with constituents or one of them inquired about his troubles, it should be noted that he didn't condemn the conversation. Instead it was a jovial and carefree moment that substances can induce, when a user isn't sober enough to realize the consequence of their words and actions.

[...]

Ford used his party time to seek the spotlight while posing for countless pictures. He knew all eyes were on him because he was smiling for the attention. He knows the cloud of suspicion that surrounds him is darkening the city's reputation and causing dysfunction within city council. He didn't use this opportunity to speak about responsible drinking or provide a good example, nor did he address the economic and cultural benefits that come from hosting events like Taste of the Danforth.

That was too much to ask from a man who is tasked with managing the concerns of millions and the only business Rob Ford wishes to discuss is where to find the next venue with mind-altering substances. In lieu of drumming up support for business and community, the mayor was concerned with partying. He promoted public intoxication over public safety and couldn't see beyond enjoyment of self in what some would call a slurring stupor.

So the question begs to be asked, is this the face constituents want to represent their interests while attracting committed business to the metropolis? Is this how the mayor behaves when negotiating deals with corporate friends? Are these the actions of a leader or truly Conservatives ideals? Is Ford's judgement sound or is it really shaded by addiction?"

Did anybody actually see Rob AT the Taste of the Danforth? All the videos I saw showed him on side streets. If he was indeed actually ON the Danforth did anybody actually see him drinking there?

Rob Ford takes over 800 calls from taxpayers each and every day. Nobody does more for taxpayers than Rob Ford. The Stalinists on council and the ones enabling them by putting them in City Hall do not respect the taxpayer like Rob Ford. They would like nothing more than for Rob Ford to disappear because Rob Ford is a human being, one who is not too elitist to mingle with the common man. Rob Ford's overwhelming record 47% approval rating is proof that the taxpayers support him in his fight!

read the title again

The current headline is: "Toronto mayor had 'a couple of beers night of festival appearance"

Your earlier post included, "Ford admits he was drinking during Taste of the Danforth appearance."

I've yet to come across any eyewitness accounts that he drank alcohol during the event. If it was a case of consuming alcohol at Taste of the Danforth, no big deal.

Every reasonable conclusion leads to Ford becoming intoxicated before his arrival at the event and that he drove to the area in that condition.

We are all responsible for our actions but whoever he was getting intoxicated with should have done everything possible to prevent him form leaving, and if he got away, to call 911.
