I noticed that too, but I wonder of it's partially due to the fact trains enter and leave the station at subway-like speeds. The TTC streetcars and ION flexities enter at much lower speeds due to pedestrians crossing tracks etc. We'll know with the Crosstown, since at least underground they too should be entering the station at high speed

The Flexity Freedoms will be able to accelerate/decelerate much more akin to the subway through the below ground sections due to the fact that the stations have better pedestrian access control as they are setup more like subway stations than the surface stations are.

not true. There is definitely more than one in the building. they are just only using one for yard testing.

I thought the crosstown will run in ATO mode in the underground section.

It will. I meant the ATO button that you press. Im not sure if it's ported to the flexity freedom vehicles
