Mayor John Tory's Toronto

Liberals to announce funding for new multi-billion dollar transit project (in Montreal). It's a good thing Toronto is not in desperate need of new transit (what with our exploding population and all).

The electric, fully automated 67-kilometre rail line would connect 24 stations stretching from the South Shore to Montreal's Trudeau airport and beyond, to both the West Island and Laval.
Mother of god, this is actually going to happen...

Another repulsive idea by his dear deputy mayor Denzil Minnan-Wong. I'm still waiting for Tory to register as an Uber lobbyist. Ditto for CAA and First Gulf. He's been working so hard lobbying councilors on behalf of those companies.

I believe Norm started this mess many years ago.

What I don't understand is the "why". What problem are they trying to solve with this?

Groups like NoCasinosTO, NoJetsTO, and Black Lives Matter have been successful in opposing policies and campaigns championed by Toronto's New Family Compact. They're trying to put a stop to it.

It's interesting that community advocacy groups and ad-hoc coalitions typically have little to no financial interest in advocating their causes. Some unions, sure, they're looking out for their membership when they, say, oppose library cuts. And few organizations have the resources to hire lobbyists and lawyers to get their matters heard.

I was only going by the article which said DMW will be one introducing the motion for this stupidity. As for Norm, people are too busy fawning over his damn twitter account to care that he stood for a lot of foolish things over the years.
