Hyatt Regency Toronto On King will be home to those seeking the city's most fashionable new hotel. This chic property will feature a stunning VIP Floor, four decadent Air-Bath Suites, 23 Deluxe Suites, one Producer's Suite and a breathtaking Premiere Suite. All suites will offer the most exhilarating views of the city.

Designed by Toronto's Hirschberg Designs, each guestroom exudes sophistication and style. The use of space is precise and well appointed. The furnishings and decor are avant-garde and sexy with shades of grey, white and red accents.

The urban style is carried throughout the hotel including all the public areas. A common theme of light, water and fire are showcased in the lobby, the restaurant and the bar. Is the hyatt brand considered as luxurious as Four seasons or ritz? Anyone know what "level" each of these high end ish hotels fit in to? They aren't all the same level are they? (stars?)

Recognizing that the current economic climate lends itself more to the value concious traveller, the owners of the hotel property at 370 King Street west announced today that they will be rebranding the hotel as a Holiday Inn in an attempt to lure the more frugal traveller to their property.

Just kidding (of course) but it would be funny to read something like that! ;)

^^I think that would look very stupid =D! LOL, really, I know I'm the only person here who actually likes that building, but I don't care. BTW, the 'grey-black' cladding on the first two floors really looks just plain bad, and that's definitely not the way to go with this tower. Heck, a good cleaning would give it a new look immediately.
 
The grey cladding on the bottom is terrible. What was the purpose of doing that? It would have been much better to have just left it like it was. It looks unfinished right now. Strange!
 
So did they do a major refurb to the interiors? The Hyatt is a more upscale brand...I guess it's a repositioning exercise anticipating the completion of the ritz carlton, festival tower and other higher end developments in the vicinity. The building is still beyond ugly...its fugly.
 
I'm with you jks. I really like this building.

It is unique and adds a lot of character to King. I like the horizontal lines created by the windows and the cladding. I like the soft curves.

The building seems to work pretty well at ground level too.

I can't say that I "like" this building but I understand that architectural diversity is important....you need some different styles/constrasts to make the mosaic of buildings work.

I think the change of cladding on the bottom was to create the impression of different/mixed uses....at street level the building is more retail/studio ("the Score") than hotel.....sorta the way MLS has Le Germain clad differently than the office/retail/condo

You do realize the hotel sits on top of 8ish floors of office space. Should we therefore expect more grey once the weather clears up?
