The City of Toronto's new Chief Planner is..... Jason Thorne

I will happily accept the association to Patrick Condon, and add that recent academic publications support his thesis. (for those who don't know, Patrick doesn't argue against zoning reform or more housing, but posits that the neither, unto themselves is likely to impact affordability of...

The City of Toronto's new Chief Planner is..... Jason Thorne

This is an entirely unreasonable position that is not based in evidence. Toronto has approved tens of thousands of units that aren't being built, because market conditions don't support it. There has been more development in Hamilton, and at greater height than at any time in the last several...

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

I'll follow up to see if there's been any change.

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

The crossing here is already approved and funded. It was supposed to have been done this year, but the City as I understand it, is waiting for Mx to sign off on the Crosstown as a whole.

Let me take a close - up of a portion of @friendlyfuture 's pic above: Above: a lesson for architects............do not put new structural columns behind a heritage facade in the middle of the @#$#@ window! Wow........

    Toronto Beltline Yards | 190.15m | 55s | Hullmark | Allies and Morrison

The application in now public-facing in the AIC: https://www.toronto.ca/city-government/planning-development/application-details/?id=5546691&pid=473795&title=250-BOWIE-AVE-&-670-680-CALEDONIA-RD @Paclo We've seen a lot of material here in preview, but while there aren't many novel renders...

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

Excellent point really, they think that cyclists/hikers/joggers in the valley can't be trusted to obey a traditional railway crossing signal or a conventional traffic light in the alternative.........but they're sure those same people on Eglinton can manage a traffic light just...

    What's Cooking?

I assume there's a sauce for the above hidden somewhere? Beef quality looks very appetizing, nicely cooked.

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

LOL, I hope no one is just picking up on this issue now. Mx has been a thorn in the side of this project from the beginning.......they've literally caused years of delays.

Will Toronto benefit from the Quebec Charter of values fisaco?

I think we need to take the above in context. It wasn't a statement out of thin air, it came in the context of an interview covering an issue/incident which has some folks in Quebec hot. I would agree that the above is disconcerting. I understand Quebecer's concerns that such behavior...

    Toronto 141 Roehampton | 186.3m | 58s | Lifetime | Wallman Architects

Just to add to this.............I don't see any sign of a Site Plan Approval application. Definitely no permit requests of any kind.

    What's Cooking?

Something I used to enjoy as a periodic treat was two-bite brownies. I don't have a particularly sweet tooth........but once in a while, they were nice with coffee or hot cocoa. But in recent years, I've noticed not only has the price gone up, but the freshness has gone down. For ~$7...

    Toronto 2346 Yonge Street | 185.91m | 56s | Diamond Corp | CGL Architects

I didn't mean the bank branch space was too small for the bank, but that the site was too small for what's proposed on it.

Waterfront Transit Reset Phase 1 Study

I feel like not everyone's education allows for a swift understanding of your fine use of Latin.......... LOL Literally Mirabile Dictu means Wonderful To Say. For the typical, English speaker, the translated sentence would really read; ***** "After only 20 years?....... Wonderful...

Consolidated 54/55 Division, Housing Now @ TTC Danforth Garage Site

This project as conceived appears dead in the water. Not only do the police want out.............they want to un-do what they did that precipitated this project and de-amalgamate 54 and 55 divisions, rebuilding them on their former and current sites respectively. From the latest Police...
