The month of September, 2023 gave Toronto more summer-like weather as students returned to school. We ended the month with reflection on the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, along with celebrating the Blue Jays making the playoffs in typical dramatic fashion. Through all these emotions, construction and developments carried on throughout the city and the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA). Here is the latest roundup of the hottest news stories, Database files, and Forum threads on UrbanToronto from the month of September.
Our Top 10 Most Read News Stories:
We start our journey on the east side of the GTHA, in the regenerating area of Central Oshawa. The massive mixed-use development proposal for 144 through 155 First Avenue signals the impending arrival of the GO Train to the area, with the Lakeshore East GO line extension to Bowmanville. The 17.7-acre project, designed by Baron Nelson Architects and DIALOG, for Ellsworth Group, Forgestone Capital, and Milborne Group, plans for buildings up to 42 storeys and over 5,400 residential units.

Meanwhile, Toronto stories looked at the aesthetic and architectural features of various projects, such as the resubmission for 15 Toronto Street enhancing its relationship with the neighbouring heritage building, and the unique glass block wall at the currently under-construction KING Toronto.
