In the heart of Toronto's downtown core, The One at 1 Bloor Street West is ascending into a touchstone of architectural prowess. On its way to its final storey count of 91 storeys, the building from Mizrahi Developments and designed by Foster + Partners and Core Architects is currently making progress on its second mechanical section.

We covered that milestone in our previous update when the tower recently surpassed the 30-storey mark with the installation of the Rail Climbing System (RCS), marking a pivotal moment in its construction journey. As that work continued throughout this past month, passersby have witnessed the cladding and window installation continuing to transform the tower's lower floors.

In early September, the crane on the south facade guides our eyes up the rise of the tower, showing off The One in all its concrete-and-construction glory. The east wall RCS stands ready to facilitate the installation of exterior glazing across several floors.

Ground level along Bloor east of the building offers a unique vantage point, capturing The One's impressive ascent. Yellow netting on the east wall mostly hides newly installed cladding at the first mechanical section.

Looking southeast in the image below, forming work up top continues on the second mechanical section of the tower, weather-protected behind the array of scaffolds. Just below the scaffolds, mounts are now fastened to the super-columns, ready to welcome the next set of corner hangers...

…and a week later — just a couple days ago — the sixth set of hangers has been installed.

Once complete, The One will tower 328.4 metres high and house 475 units, each offering great views of Toronto's evolving skyline.

UrbanToronto will continue to follow progress on this development, but in the meantime, you can learn more about it from our Database file, linked below. If you'd like, you can join in on the conversation in the associated Project Forum thread or leave a comment in the space provided on this page.
