As the summer winds down, new information has been shared with UrbanToronto regarding an appealing Oakville development from Alliance United, The Residences at Bronte Lakeside. Following our coverage of the development’s cutting edge sustainability and smart technology features, and the charm of the lakeside community, we have new details about the amenities that will be the backbone of the project’s 5-star resort experience.

The design of the 6-storey / 24.74m human-scaled mid-rise comes from IBI Group in collaboration with award winning interiors firm Patton Design Studio. The combined approaches of the architects and interior designers aims at livability, which among other things is expressed throughout the building’s exterior by the abundance of private and shared outdoor spaces.
Private balconies or terraces of different sizes are provided for all 203 units, and making efficient use of the rooftop spaces. While the upper rooftop patio has been the main point of interest thus far, ensuring all residents have access to the property’s desirable lake views, another outdoor space at the 2nd level hopes to create a different atmosphere with equal allure.

Landscape plans for the project show the extensive amount of design work going into the ‘secret garden’, a shared courtyard space on the roof of the 1st storey, located in an opening in the centre of the site with the 6-storey elevations built up around it. With the design pictured in the new renderings, the courtyard garden will provide a quiet and scenic getaway space that aims to lend itself generously to walking, reading, and socializing in the seating area. Planted with a diverse roster of trees, flowers, and grasses, the colours are certain to stand out against the low-profile stone pavers.
The development’s focus on creating a lively social community is also conveyed through the resort style indoor amenities that encourage residents to engage in the activities offered in shared spaces. A theatre room, for example, provides a space suitable for screening events, with group seating around a large TV, and outfitted with clean finishings in the building’s signature neo-modern style.

Residents will also enjoy access to wellness facilities like a gym and a yoga studio, while having the opportunity to give their furry friends a wellness experience of their own in the dog spa. Work and business can be conducted in the co-work zone, while a fully outfitted kitchen and entertainment lounge provide further opportunities for gathering in shared spaces.
At street level, the development opens itself to the outside community through 22,000 ft² of commercial space split between four retail storefronts that wrap around the building. Two smaller stores will occupy the frontage along Bronte Road, while the entire frontage along Lakeshore Road West will provide an additional two retail spaces well situated in the heart of Bronte Village.
