Our annual Growth To Watch For series is back for another year, bigger, taller, and more comprehensive than ever before. Over the course of the year, we're bringing you to every significant development happening across the 416 and beyond into the Greater Toronto Area. We're covering everything from brand new proposals, to those inching their way through the planning process, to those already under construction or about to be completed.
A total of 25 reports will be available to subscribers throughout the year, with 16 released earlier. (Details about how to get them can be found at the bottom of this article.) For a taste of what's offered in the 17th report, here's a sneak peek at the area highlighted.

Our latest report continues east of the Downtown Core, picking up west of where our last instalment left off, now at the top of the Jarvis Street. A southbound route down Jarvis and parallel backstreets turns west on The Esplanade and then heads back north along Church Street, giving an overview of all projects about to be completed, all buildings currently under construction, and all proposals working their way through the planning process in this quickly transforming area of Toronto.
The area highlighted in this report covers generally three types of new development: tower-in-the-park style developments that are being proposed for intensification, former Jarvis Street mansions or low-rise Church Street commercial buildings where the heritage frontages will become the sidewalk interfaces for new towers rising behind, or surface parking lots that are being replaced by something substantial. One of the exceptions in the area is the replacement to the recently demolished brutalist St Lawrence Market North Building, soon to house markets again, but also to now house municipal courts. The design of the building is by London-based startchitects Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners working with Toronto's Adamson Associates Architects.
New Growth to Watch For 2019 reports are being released on an ongoing basis, each covering a different section of the Greater Toronto Area. The series' upcoming 18th report will move into the Downtown North area, where more growth is unfolding.
