Toronto Top 20 Under Construction List

That will be nice... can wait to see the two ( Signature, One Bloor east ) developments that are well over 200 meters under construction.

LOL >> Aren't you being a tad presumptuous? We have even seen what's planned for the Signature site and they still have to sell a lot of units even if what's planned manages to be, " well over 200 metres".

Well.. we have all heard its going to be the tallest of them all...and after selling 20 or so buildings do you still have your doubts this wont sell...come-on maestro have some faith, you cant always be negative on everything.

Signature @ Cityplace has great potential. Originally, the vision was to have it around 70 to 79 stories way back in 2001. We'll have to wait and see what's in strore. Concord Adex should have no problem selling it. It has potential to top out Ice, Shangri La, The Ritz, & the current version of 1 Bloor East. However, I don't think it'll be as high as Aura or Trump. Most likely 700 to 750 feet.

Ancient history but the vision was 56 storeys back in 2001.

No doubt it will include the tallest of the bunch but, I just don't understand the confidence that it will be some sort of 70 storey tower. The site could easily support two sister towers like every other block in the development.

What, did you pick that number from a hat.....As far as i know, it was always 69 storeys from the start

From scyscraperpage.com

Renderings of a design by Busby + Associates Architects were released in 2002 and construction was planned for 2003, but the project was put on-hold.
An early proposal was 69 storeys, 217.6m (714ft)

The older plans back in the late 90s when Cityplace was initially planned and launched suggested that the tower at Bremner and Spadina would be 56 floors.

I think that a number of the larger projects that have just started will still be on the list in 3 years time. For example, the Ice complex is just across the street from the MLS complex, and we all remember how long that was under construction (the excavation, in particular was a lengthy process). Aura is also likely to take a long time to complete.

The 150m+ under construction list currently has 17 members, and with the addition of the Hullmark Centre and the U Condominium projects later this year (plus possibly X2 and maybe others) it should reach an incredible 20 or more buildings of at least 150m in height under construction by October.

Not really well thought out. I wouldn't count on any major office construction over the next 3 to 5 years however, we are pretty much guarantteed 171 Front won't be one of them. That tower is dead for the time being. Bay Adelaide North can't go over 120 metres either. Signature doesn't even have a plan so I have no clue where you're getting these stats. The process to get it to ground breaking will likely eat up the majority of those five years from when they do apply to increase the density of these lands.

I'm more interested if you even left any of the tallest proposals of the last few years off your vision and why you did.
