My Video from Last Night

Will upload some HD Video later today...

Thanks so much.

The video is amazing. Way better than still shots. Still shots of the building from all forum members have always been fantastic and much appreciated.

Sorry to anyone who was reminded of images from past experiences that should never have happened. We all felt the tremendous loss of 911 as we watched in horror that terrible morning. Every movie and television set stopped working that day. The day we will never forget. The still images of the dancers obviously were not meant to remotely remind us of that.

This video truly shows the beauty of the performance.

Yes, Toronto needs more public art exhibits and performances such as this and we can't wait to see more videos of the event.

Did anyone meet Daniel Libeskind? I would have loved to shake his hand and thank him for his second major contribution to Toronto.

Just for you I've decided to upload my own SHORT VIDEO of the event :)

If you were there you'll find it underwhelming, but hopefully it'll satisfy the curiosity of those who weren't.

You are way too modest. It's even in HD 1080P although short, it did capture a sneak peak of the best part.

Thanks for sharing. Too bad the weather was not warmer. Many people passed by between 6:30 and 7:30 expecting to see something, and because of the cold weather, most people left. The tented area was small and crowded, and they started late. But I appreciate all the performers and technicians for putting on such a great show in our Canadian weather.

I hope they do a light show with another outdoor musical venue when the building is complete. Perhaps sometime next summer :)
Maybe coincide with Buskerfest and have Front Street East closed off from traffic that evening. I would love to see L-Tower lit up for a few nights, maybe even a few weeks, prior to occupancy of course. This art work really should be celebrated.

Cheers

OK, That's it... I officially love Skyjacked!

Thank you so much for your 360 panorama video. No music, no voice over... just skyscraper porn for the geek in all of us. If you have any pull with your Crane-operator Brothers/Sisters in the business, please convince them to join Urban Toronto and post some pictures of their own.

Thanks again for all your great posts on UT.

SkyJacked has made this thread so much more interesting since joining.

Here is a shot from this morning - unfortunately nowhere near as impressive as SkyJacked's vantage point.

We've seen some great photos from SkyJacked - that video really was the cherry on top! We've written an article about the video on the news page; you can find it at the link below. Thanks for the unique perspective!

The L Tower is an incredible building and I think it will eventually be considered one of Daniel Libeskind’s best ever. I can’t wait for the first time I see it in a movie. Toronto has some pretty savvy people in the film industry. They will know a good thing when they see it.

I was drawn to this thread by all of the great content. I’ve been watching since the ground floor and it’s been excellent! Thanks for the wonderful welcome UT.

Quoting Daniel Libeskind:

"Sculptural in form, the L Tower adds a new 21st century
icon to the dramatic skyline of Toronto. The building
is uniquely shaped by the site and by the quality of
light and atmosphere of its location. Together with
the Sony Centre, the L Tower celebrates an exciting new
sense of place in a diverse and vibrant urban context.

SkyJacked photos makes me wish Toronto had more observation decks or roof top restaurants.

SomeMidTowner and SkyJacked both raised the bar on photo Quality in this forum. Thank to the two of you and everyone else who has taken the time to post pics on here. Much appreciated :)
