Here are a few photos from inside the the topping off celebration across the street at Oliver & Bonacini. I was fortunate and watched the performance while standing next to Daniel Libeskind and his wife. He was kind enough to take time and answer some questions about the tower.

I would fire the Ice Sculpture company that did the model of L... The curve appears to be on the East side of the tower in relation to the notched base on the Southwest corner. Hurumph!

well the cladding seems to be going up at 4 floors per month. At this rate the project will be fully clad by june 2013, I wish they would just stick a bag over the whole building until then, the process is agonizingly slow.

Jasonzed, that shot looking down King from the Queen Street bridge is amazing. Moreso especially since I moved from King East last summer, and that view is so dramatically different I almost can't believe it. Very cool glimpse of L Tower too; a very unique profile on the skyline.

SkyJacked, I hope you are not jumping ships (cranes) from L Tower to Pier 27 now.

Hi UT'ers - My First post. Haven't noticed this vantage point on the L-tower.... my office has allowed me to watch it grow from the ground up!
