phase 2?

perhaps they are waiting for more official and final plans of what happening at Dundas square. This will boost the demand for 1 city hall emensly

if those trusses are indeed for the video screen (and hopefully not more backlit crap), this building might be better than expected.

anyone notice that the fake fans are missing on that rendering?

RE: fans

^that's because when Pen Equity changed the original signage concept from spinning Metropolis globes with laser lights, a faux construction crane that dangled new vehicle models precariously over Dundas Street, swaths of neon snaking around the entire south facade, and state-of-the-art LED trimmed trivisons..... to the now planned 34 backlit signs and a refurbished Zenith 36" CRT tube TV....

.... they wisely decided to jazz the place up a bit with those vacu-formed fans (more than one).

I for one am glad they saved the project by investing that little bit extra... they could have just taken a short-cut and hoped no-one would notice.

Rumour has it they may even add a "for sale" sign in the near future. Worth waiting for.

in that case, thank god for those fans

God has nothing to do with this. According to the stories, if the big "G" was involved, this sucker would have taken only six days, not the years upon years that it has.

No, this is clearly the product of evolution: blind, slow, occasionally successful, but sometimes not.

does anyone know what this building will look like when it is finally finished, or do the developers just change it as they go?

There have been various renderings posted on this thread. As to how it will look when finished, only time will tell.

And with PenInequity, you need plenty of time.

Perhaps somebody in the press should be copied on all these emails, Hume for example? Nothing like copying an outsider to get somebody on the inside's attention.

the last of the historic blue hoarding is down???

This is indeed the end of an era......:D
