Rob Ford's Toronto

I will be having my first colonoscopy a week from Tuesday. I'm going to ask them to look for that thong I put on in 1987....

Has anyone figured out the name for his official website? Dougford.ca would be the obvious choice, but is he allowed to use it after it was his councillor page? Does he give a shit? (That's a rhetorical question) All the usual suspects seem to be taken up by critics.

If it is dougford.ca it's the same blank page from the last few months. Just saying it would be nice if they pulled a transit plan and leaked it out by accident.

Take a deep breath and relax, you will now feel a little pressure... on the roof of you mouth. :D

I spent the first 25 years of my life in Martin Grove Gardens:

so, I'm familiar with Ward 2. There are some nice streets there.

Rob's a 30-year man. Said so himself. He obviously understands our pension formula. He will never give up Ward 2. Not voluntarily at least.

I never thought much of it before, but suddenly realized that we were passing by the location of the future Frod Fest. It is a pretty big area.

"But support for the Ford name extends beyond the Ward 2 seat. The poll of Etobicoke North voters shows latecomer Doug Ford is their top choice for mayor, with 49 per cent saying they plan to vote for him on election day."

"Even if Rob Ford is too ill to campaign, I think that he will win the seat from his hospital bed,” Bozinoff said."

As my neighbours ten year old said, "I don't get it. If I'm too sick to go to school, then I'm too sick to go out and play. If you're too sick, you're too sick!"

Even a ten year old thinks this stinks to high heaven.
How was he able to register without being there in person anyway? That shouldn't be allowed.

These are the people who were willing to give an inexperienced and uneducated kid a 105 grand per year job without ever hearing him speak. Of course Rob is going to win the ward. Best not to get too frustrated with it, it's an inevitability. At least he'll be castrated by the fact that he won't be Mayor and will be back to being the angry curmudgeon that the rest of council rolls their eyes at. He'll have no power BUT will still be relevant so we'll still get all of the dirty deets about him. I kind of can't wait until the first council meeting where Rob realizes how much he's lost. What an embarrassment to go from being a one term Mayor to a ward councillor again. What a demotion!

Looks like the Star is checking into the idea that Rob either had opportunities to be checked previously or was checked previously. Hope they turn up something!

Here's one possibility:

Im pretty sure there is nothing there. The muskoka location was not doing colonoscopies in years. I think he was sent to a hospital at first. The colonoscopy stuff is mere coincidence.

Doesn't Greenstone have a Toronto clinic? I thought that's where they did this kind of stuff. Muskoka is about the rehab, no? (That said, I leave toward the coincidence theory, too, though I'm not ruling anything out at this point.)

Love this subtle gem:

Patients going in for addiction rehab, as Ford did in May, are all given an extensive medical to determine if they are fit for the addiction-rehab process which includes being able to withstand the effects of withdrawal.

GreeneStone documents state that all new patients in the rehab program are to be assessed to see if they have any other health issues, including chronic pain. GreeneStone doctors, the documents say, will work to treat those alongside the addiction issues.

Bottom line: Doug loses, Rob lives, city is "What the Hell?"

Alternative is:Rob dies, Doug loses, city is "Oh Well".

What are the other options? Doug wins and Rob makes a miraculous recovery? I'm not seeing that one. Honestly, I think we're at the point where we can all take a deep breath, light a cigar, and start thinking about the actual future of this city. it still seems scary (because Doug's a scary guy). but I don't think there's a lot of danger left. If there is, you can all join me in Vancouver in six months and we'll all have a barbecue and laugh about it.
I'd like to agree with you, but I'm gonna be cautious and wait until Oct. 27th.
