I have no doubt that Doug will get pounded on the 27th and I can't wait to see him in a debate. However, if Rob wins Ward 2, which looks inevitable at the moment, he's still back in CH for Ford more years, still front page news the entire time. It makes sense that Ford opponents should focus their efforts on defeating Rob in Ward 2. Doug will surely defeat himself.

I agree with this. Ward 2 is no longer an under card, it's another main event title bout. I guess I should be careful for what I wished for when I wished that Domise would run against Rob. I should've specified to the Djinni I meant Domise as a mayoral candidate. Doug will likely implode. Domise is an underdog in the fight against the King who stepped down to become Prince Rob. And Little Lord To Be Mikey needs to be defeated in the school trustee race because the Ford name recognition should not be underestimated even now.

It has to be a hat trick operation, if even one Ford wins the tumor can still spread.

Met a guy that went to school with Doug this week. The hash dealing is 100% true. So if anything he WAS a criminal then. He also said that Randy was the real nutjob out of the 3 and that Doug Senior would bully the principal, and have ties with the TPS so that Doug could deal his stuff unhindered.

Yup, I live in Trinity- Spadina. When Rofo was elected in 2010 first gossip i heard from former Etobicoke residents was about Doug's hash dealing in the 80's.

Highly rated specialists have degree of pride and oftentimes, arrogance, a common quality required to get to the top of their field, and they would not risk their professional reputation on something like this.

But we've seen upper-tier professionals like TTC head Byford, City Manager Penachetti and Police Chief Blair compromised by the Fords' schemes. I don't know why doctors would be any different, especially ones with political ties like the first. We seem to be putting doctors on a special pedestal. Guys we've never heard of before become world-renowned experts.

Sounds like it's pretty serious. To be honest, I was hoping to see him destroyed at the polls and then shortly after hauled off in handcuffs, fighting and being his belligerent self all the way along. What if cops really were investigating Rob for Smith's murder--do they still move forward trying to prove that if Rob's health issues are the worst case scenario?

It never stopped the FBI when they were hauling all those ancient Mafia bosses into court with their oxygen tanks.

My first home was in Etobicoke...we moved when I was a kid but my family kept in touch with some others who stayed, and they confirmed the Doug story too. Kids of a certain age knew who Doug was and what he was up to. And the threatened legal action against the Globe that never happened should make it clear who the liar is.

Because ROB FORD said something dire, you think it sounds serious??? You give him too much credit. The man has never met a lie he wouldn't tell. He put his name on the ballot for Ward 2 for fuck's sake, in spite of being on his deathbed.

Given Ford history of lying, the only thing this sounds like is bullshit until proven otherwise. And by "proven otherwise" I mean positive confirmation from the arrogant Dr. Cohen, and not any person whose last name is Ford.

(Not to say Ford isn't at high risk for cancer - on top of all the very obvious lifestyle factors, he's a man who has never lived his own life, which can cause serious emotional stress that depresses the immune system. I'm not ruling it out. All I'm saying is Rob Ford's word isn't good enough)

It's at least a week before the ITO goes public. By then we will likely know how serious Ford's condition is.

The other thing I heard a while back from a colleague that now hires the Ford's former nanny is that a whole lot of dodgy activities was occurring in the family basement, people coming and going, so I guess Doug and co were also selling from home. No wonder they did not sue anyone for Libel. I'm not close to anyone in this while thing and I've heard from two people confirm this already without even trying.
