Rob Ford's Toronto

Love the idea of Ford More Weeks.

Definitely agree, get in touch with the rfmg team (although they are clear they support only peaceful protest).

From my protesting experience, some suggestions:

The dollar store is your friend. Pick up a tub of sidewalk chalk - you can write on the NPS ground but messages are more visible on the concrete walls or even better, walk up the ramp and write upside down on the walls (as I have) - these will get picked up by media. Write big.

For a few bucks, pick up foamcore or other large poster-size materials and a big marker pen from the dollar store or art store. Write SIMPLE SHORT slogans - not entire essays - in big thick letters so they get picked up by media and viewed by passers by. You'll be sainted if you bring extra posters with different messages so you have a few to hand out.

Media will pick up on the event from Twitter.

Musicians are great as well - couple of drummers - cowbells - you get the idea.

I'll be there fully equipped, depending how long our weekly Andray Domise campaign team meeting runs. :)

I'm also tired of being told to vote Tory. I just wish some of these fringe candidates would go away, why do they even bother? They must just want to say "I ran for mayor" to their grandkids.

Maybe he and the team would be willing to come and join us?

At this point I'm convinced the only way to make him crack is to call him a coward and insult his father.

Yeah, that's the idea. The Rub and Tug show have proven that "rules" don't apply to them so any interaction with them should also be free of any societal norms/rules.

Wheeler98 might think that an arrest would have zero effect but a front page photo of drunky mcfuckalups throwing a punch or him being escorted by police would be a rather big nail in his coffin.

I'm more convinced than ever that Ford is finished when cops finally move in so you'd just have to hold a byelection if he wins in Oct.

I'm getting so discouraged. It's been so long and Blair even looks like an idiot now. Not returning, wrote the letter for ford, blah blah.
And meanwhile ford gets to continue to break all the rules because Canadian.

I hate Mondays. Even holiday ones.

No Thread, No Tory

No. Thread, are you listening? I am not going to vote Tory! I will not do it. Now, you can castigate me as the death of democracy for daring to vote my conscience. You can allege that I'd rather have an impotent Ford than an effective Tory as Mayor. Say what you will, you are not going to force me to vote your wishes. Period. (Hopefully) end of discussion.

I agree, Tory wants to privatize city run long term care and recreation centres. He's a Bay Street Boy with more contacts in Big Business than grassroots. Chow has a strong ground crew and young people who are not captured in Forum polls are flocking to her.

If we want a small "c" conservative for mayor, David Soknacki would be a better choice with his vast experience on city council and demonstrated ability to work with people of any political stripe.

For a protest vote, I'd go for Richard Underhill any day.

Is it possible to see just how many items RoFo put forward to council that actually passed? I feel like this would be a good way to show just how ineffective Ford has actually been at 'achieving his agenda'.

Voters shying away from Ford on Election Day.

PC: I agree with you on the subject of Toronto's voters...I think that there will be a huge turnout from anti-RF
voters that will more then counter the RF Nation's supporters...What continues to make me apprehensive is
a split vote that breaks down on the left/right divide that could see RF get re-elected...I feel that voters that
want to insure that RF does not win re-election unite behind one candidate...If John Tory turns out to be that
candidate he should be supported knowing what could happen: RF winning re-election...LI MIKE

Yes, and the true hard core Ford Fans will be too drunk or stoned to go out and vote. The daughter of a friend of mine went to Ford Fest and drank the cool aid. All her friends are giving her a hard time on Face Book, saying "UGH how could you!' She may be prevented by her peers from wasting her very first vote on a racist crack smoker.

Agreed. He hasn't won a vote on council in years.
