Rob Ford's Toronto

Not open for further replies.
Do we need a permit? Should we invite candidates? Can someone who knows how get us a twitter account for the rally plan. Interested in helping organize this?pm me.

The obvious first step would be reaching out to the rfmg and the savetoronto.ca folks. If anyone has first dibs on a Ford More Weeks protest it would be rfmg.

Not sure if a permit is required or can be ignored - lawful assembly and all that means people can show up without fear of reprisal, but there are election rules about what candidates can do on city property. If this is going to be a true "by the people" event then who cares. If mayoral or council candidates are invited to speak then they may need air cover.

Rob Ford has never broken the rules on anything so it's important that his critics play by the book...

Our systems just never needed anything to deal with somebody like him before.
It has always been assumed that an elected official would have some sort of basic ethical core, or, if not, a sense of shame when revealed to be a dirtbag.
I fear that political types everywhere are watching the fords "success" at dodging/ignoring scandal and the political game is going to get dirtier and dirtier everywhere.

That's why I've been advocating someone man up and get in his face and call him out. Guys like him are very predictable, get in his face and call him a "fat fucking cocksucker" or a "lying fucking scumbag", these are the sort of terms he's familiar with on a personal level and I bet his response will be physical, same goes for Tug Ford. Complaining to the integrity commissioner makes them laugh and embiggens (sic) them, talking their own language will get a much more visceral reaction.

If Rub throws a punch, which he most likely will, an assault charge is guaranteed and this sorry excuse of a MINO will be over.

Bonus points awarded if you confront Rub with a slur indicating a homoerotic relationship with "the Rat" Lisi.

I'm pretty sure I saw Sandro yesterday. black range rover on king right at the bottom of Roncesvalles. I was on the streetcar coming up and we were stopped in traffic. He had his window down and was about a half a car length ahead of me. I leaned out the window and loudly asked 'what was in the envelopes?" He either didn't hear me, wasn't list or ignored me.

Its quite pointless without the press. It needs to be a spectacle of fordish proportions where we a stack up reminders of transgressions in a way that makes obfuscation around his tenure impossible.

If Ford and Ford Nation was a normal situation then I would agree with you. However; if Ford was arrested for assaulting a heckler or a member of the media his numbers wouldn't change. Ford nation is to the death.

At this point I'm convinced the only way to make him crack is to call him a coward and insult his father.

Please stop telling me to vote Tory.
Not going to happen.

Ellipses much?

Even though Joe Pantalone did not have a real chance to win it all in 2010, he still managed to dilute the anti-Ford vote by realizing 95 thousand votes. In 2010, I held my nose and voted for Smitherman simply because I knew Ford was a wrecking machine. Vote for the leading candidate not named Ford.

I was really surprised by Himy Syed's .071%, Forum had him pegged at 0.0%. Most political polling company ever.

No. Thread, are you listening? I am not going to vote Tory! I will not do it. Now, you can castigate me as the death of democracy for daring to vote my conscience. You can allege that I'd rather have an impotent Ford than an effective Tory as Mayor. Say what you will, you are not going to force me to vote your wishes. Period. (Hopefully) end of discussion.
