Rob Ford's Toronto

This argument Is holding increasingly less water. If they need Ford co to let down their guard that means they need evidence of a past crime to surface or are waiting for a new crime to get committed. Short of setting up a bribery sting it's hard to see how the latter one makes sense. And if they don't have enough evidence for past crimes by now it's hard to see how a slip up by Rob will be the missing piece of the puzzle. At this point I'm putting 3:1 odds against charges in 2014.
With regards to past crimes, I think the police/crown would like to secure some testimony. The poster from Nova Scotia (YYZYHZ or something like that) alluded to this. It's great to have papers and cellphone records and blurry photos and what not, but people still like an actual person saying (under oath) "this happened" " I saw that happen" "I heard him say it" and so on. Sometimes people swear up and down for months that they won't testify against someone, then abruptly change their minds.

It's always a pain in the ass when they introduce the real bad guy halfway through the third act. We've spent all this time getting emotionally invested in Ford just to find out that he's merely a cog in the wheel? Given how lazy the writing has been this season I expect that Rob will end up garroted and stuffed in the trunk of his Escalade and we'll find out that Mammoliti (having successfully faked a brain injury for the last five years) has been pulling the strings the whole time.

meh... works for me.

This will no doubt get me flak from some of the more sensitive posters, but I know exactly the guy you mean and he looks like a complete mutant. Whether or not it's polite to say so, his presence alone at Ford events, wearing Ford shirts and waving Ford flags with that glazed-eye, not-quite-there look of the true believer rube must do more to undermine the Ford brand and illustrate the true nature of his remaining base than any number of Twitter accounts and public protests.

I'm not one of the more sensitive posters, and yea we are talking about the same guy, but what he looks like is irrelevant. He may well have even been a fire victim.. We know nothing about him other than his participation in at least two RoFo support events. Lets try to keep the characterizations of RoFo's support crew to the the judgement of their character, not their appearance.

His appearance speaks volumes, as far as I'm concerned. I saw nothing to suggest being a "fire victim" or anything of the sort, and would obviously consider that sort of thing to be utterly irrelevant, but I'm not going to pretend not to see a relationship between the guy's appearance and his prominence at Ford events. You are welcome to, but I'm just glad he's out there.

Hmmm... I wonder what doctor would be prescribing narcotics to a supposed recovering addict.

I think that antipsychotics should be put in the mix of supposed drugs.

I put my money on a benzodiazepine, like Clonazepam, to help manage anxiety after leaving rehab. along with perhaps helping to run to the booze or other substance for relief. Depending on the dose, even a smaller one (.5mg two or three times a day) can make one a little groggy until they build up some resistance to it.

Agreed, that would do the deed.

Just watched the Stephanie Smyth interview again.

http://abcnews.go.com/International...2014-toronto-mayor-answers-questions-24405337

Two things jumped out:

1. RoFo really looks heavily sedated. Contrast that with the Joe Wormington's soccer field clip, it's like two different persons.

2. His face was really red, like he had a sunburn but, as pointed out many pages ago, his hands were not. Do we have anyone in the medical field or familiar with pharmacology who could shed some light on this?

I think they cancelled the three remaining interviews shortly after this one. So I am wondering what happened. Did Robbie just refused to be put through this three more times or did his "camping" manager decide it probably wasn't such a good idea after all? Loved to have been a fly on the wall when they made that decision.:)

Wow, he's definitely on something! That or he's got a serious hangover.

Shocking!

Meanwhile, @jlancasterCBC is at City Hall, suggesting Mammoliti or Ford may have done something *else* that we don't yet know about.

please let this finally be the escort story... please.

I'm thinking now that TPS isn't just after evidence against Ford---they want to do a full-scale round-up of all the players at once, in which case they have a lot more T's to cross and I's to dot. At some point I wouldn't be surprised to see a series of early morning raids targeting organized crime figures across the city, of which one of those arrested would be Rob Ford.

except that, while experts and italian police say we have a huge mafia issue, york police seems to rarely acknowledge it, let alone wanna fix it.

however...

Mississauga mob killer has parole yanked
Jimmy DeMaria accused of consorting with underworld figures, returned to custody

so maybe we can be kinda hopeful after all.
