just sharing some additional recent GFL badness...

Green For Life acquired Turtle Island in 2012 and took over the contract for Newmarket and other municipalities in Northern York Region. Shortly after in early 2013, Ward Councillors started to see an increase in complaints from constituents about waste collection services. Streets were being missed. Collection days were missed. Blue and Green bins were damaged from being thrown around. Services for taxes were not being rendered and garbage was blowing all around the streets in our residential neighbourhoods.

Well, that ad turned out to be a waste of money and paper & ink, inasmuch as they still lost the contract. But in any case the fight there was about pricing; GFL was excluded from bidding on Etobicoke because of safety concerns. They might well decide that the better part of wisdom is not to try to fight that with ads, given that doing so almost certainly would draw more notice to the fact that they were barred from bidding out of concern for safety (the Streisand Effect).

can't wait to see how council on july 8th goes...

Unless Rob (if he shows) and Doug (if he shows) are so stupid as to be prepared to fight for GFL (which is a possibility that cannot be excluded), it does not look like GFL would have any serious supporters at City Council.

Keswick is one of the towns that are located in the Town of Georgina - what used to be called Georgina Township. (I don't know why the use of "XYZ Township " was dropped in favour of "Town of XYZ", but it happened in a number of places.)

The Fords don't seem organized enough to have advance-voted by mail.
