Gravy train, folks. Toot toot!

Also voted unanimously to do what might be needed to help Red Door Family Shelter stay open (the building in which it is a tenant has been sold).

I believe that the (gravy train) whistle blower is absent - attending his penultimate daughter's grad ceremony at Conestoga College today (diploma in television arts).

You can empathy for most and still not have any for Ford. In the beginning yes but we've been burned too many times.

This seems worth re-posting:

what miller said when GFL won the contract in 2011...

Miller Waste general manager Nigel Guilford declined to criticize GFL. But he said GFL’s bid was below even Miller’s estimated costs. Given that a minimum wage rate was set by the city for all bidders, it is unclear how GFL found such significant savings; Minnan-Wong did not provide specifics.

“GFL was obviously a lot lower than us,” Guilford said. “We could not have competed at that price . . . maybe they know something we don’t. I certainly wish them well.”

also... what another jurisdiction said...

Councillors in Kawartha Lakes recently rejected a contract renewal with GFL, despite the company submitting the lowest bid. City staff argued that its bid was “misleading” and decided to give the contract to Miller Waste Systems, according to reports.

Final approval for replacing GFL with Miller in Etobicoke is on City Council's agenda for July 8th - the 1st meeting after Rob wants you to believe that he is going to make his 'triumphant return'.
