It’s hard to discount a politician who once tried to deflect an allegation about him smoking crack cocaine by saying that he was probably too drunk to remember what he did, and got away with it.

This is what most people expect from their councillors. To ensure their minor issues are resolved.

..., but in terms of actual ward-wide accomplishments, he's done nothing. Rexdale has stagnated under him and his brother. No significant improvement to community housing, to employment, to transit (that he had any hand in), and he has consistently voted against motions that would actually assist his ward.

What his constituents wanted isn't necessarily what is best for them. While there a couple of candidates appear to be progressive (Andray is promising from a future outlook perspective) I'm not certain they can actually win.

Most seem to be running on clear leadership and fiscal discipline as core points.

David don't seem to be able to form his own opinion on anything on twitter.

I've not met any of them in person and none of the candidates have prior experience as a school trustee or similar.
 
Assuming that it is accurate, the latest edition of Toronto Life fills the gaps in the Ford family tree that were discussed here about two weeks ago.

Randy's ex: Lisa Dolson, age 48 - "A former hairstylist who dated Randy for 11 years. They were engaged but never married. Two weeks before the birth of their son they split, and Lisa left the city. She tries to stay out of Fordian affairs."

Randy's children: Madison, age 9, and Jonathan, age 4 - "Both kids live with their mother [Lisa Dolson] outside the GTA and see their father on weekends."

Jennifer Pressley, age 27 - "Lives with her mom [Kathy Ford] and brother [Michael ("Mikey") Ford (a/k/a Michael Stirpe), age 20] around the corner from grandma in Etobicoke." While it is possible to speculate that Kathy was carrying on with Stirpe while married to Jeff Pressley, it seems likely that her daughter Jennifer is the child of Pressley, not Stirpe (as some were speculating), because Kathy and Pressley did not separate until some two years after Jennfier was born (married 1982, split 1989, Jennifer born 1987).

interesting. so we don't know who jeniffer's kid, kathy's grandkid is. i also wonder how close in age that kid is to randy's kid. i.e. kathy may have been a grandmother before randy was a dad.

i believe lisa now lives in keswick, and still does hair...

does anyone know who greenestone's unknown buyer is?

8.00M for Greenestone Healthcare Corporation, Assets of Addiction and Mental Health Business
Merger/Acquisition

An unknown buyer entered into a non-binding Letter of Intent to acquire assets of addiction and mental health business from Greenestone Healthcare Corporation (OTCBB:GRST) for $7.8 million in cash and stock on December 20, 2013. The buyer shall merger Greenestone Healthcare’s assets with its own assets. The transaction is subject to Greenestone Healthcare’s shareholder’s approval. The Board of Directors is in support of this transaction.

GRST's price was unchanged after the transaction was announced on 12/20/13.
