Rob Ford's Toronto

I'm still convinced it was a crooked cop friend of Ford's! But it's doubtful the Bassos cooperated with police.

It was a high stakes move to teach the guys behind the video a lesson. If caught, Ford would be in trouble.

So who better to trust with something like that than your cop friend?

not sure if i've asked this here before... do you think the "muscular black man" that beat up the bassos was jerry agyemang?

guess whose twitter page isn't there anymore... yup...

https://twitter.com/DieterKiklas
I wonder who got to him? The Ford bros don't do twitter or the internet.
I wonder if the extra attention from this thread added to the heightened awareness of his tweets?
And if that is the case, who in the Ford camp reads UT? (Gasp!...could Jimmi T be a double agent? :) )
Or was he just mouthing off too much, and DoFo got to him?

This question has been posted a number of times over the last few months. The majority view seems to be that the 'description' given to the police by Basso could well have been a misrepresentation.

The cops must know who it was by now with all the taps they have out there.

Why is there a park named after Doug Ford, Sr. anyway? What did he do that made him deserve a park?

SUMMARY: A request has come to my office to re-name Weston Wood Park, located in Ward 2, to Douglas Ford
Park. Douglas Ford, who passed away in 2006, was elected Member of Provincial Parliament for
Etobicoke-Humber in 1995 and in 1997, was appointed Assistant Deputy Whip for the
Government Caucus. Both inside and outside the political arena, Mr. Ford was committed to his community, and
assisted various organizations, including the Salvation Army, Big Brothers, and groups assisting
seniors and children with special needs. Mr. Ford’s dedication to the community and to helping
others was recognized by the Rotary Club of Toronto West, of which he was a member, as he
was named a Paul Harris Fellow, an honour given to Rotarians who have demonstrated
outstanding community leadership. Throughout his life, Douglas Ford endeavoured to give back to his community and help those
around him. Re-naming Weston Wood Park to Doulas Ford Park will honour Mr. Ford’s
memory and the many actions he took to better his community, and the lives of those within it.

Thin stuff, really. He was a one term MPP, and he was a member of Rotary, so let's name a park after him. How many one-term back-bench politicians have parks named after them? It needs mention of the Salvation Army and Big Brothers to pad it out. Don't know if someone can have much involvement with the Salvation Army unless they're a member of the church. And it doesn't say he was a Big Brother, or sat on the board of Big Brothers, just that he assisted. So probably means he gave a few bucks when asked (if it means anything beyond typical Ford family self-mythologizing bullshit).

He has a park named after him because it's probably the only concern - besides managing his football foundation - that his councillor son invested energy and political capital pursuing in that term.

you'd think, but then why has no one been arrested?

If the attack was connected with the Ford camp and not the Dixon Bloods, then maybe not. The police apparently do not have any taps from the relevant time under Brazen 2 (according to the Brazen 2 ITO), and none of the transcripts/summaries of the taps released so far from the Traveller ITOs says anything about the attack, IIRC.

What does the City Hall press gallery do when Rob Ford is in rehab? Going to see @mdaisey's "Dreaming of Rob Ford" tonight #TOpoli

Yes. The previous name of the park was a place, not a person or organization, and there may have been no one around (from amongst what probably was a very limited number of people who knew about the renaming request at all) who cared enough to oppose it.
