"The Lisi and the Ford camp are concerned..."

It would be ironic that this new data would lead to potentially more charges for everyone...

If you believe in socialism, go and give your cell phone or some other personal possession, that you earned, to someone less fortunate than you. Most people are really conservative and they don't even know it. You wouldn't want somebody in a weaker financial situation thinking they're entitled to your personal belongings just because you have nicer stuff than them.

You have obviously mistaken socialism for communism. Try again.

Socialism doesn't take your Jaguar and give it to some homeless man. It attempts to create an even base standard of living for everyone. Socialism inherently has no problems with people being rich; only people being rich at the expense of others. Such as say, the massive growth in the wealth of the 1%, but declining income and equity levels of the lower and middle classes.

It's not anti-rich, it's anti-selfish.

Pretty smart on Sandro's part to make these recordings in case the mayor tried to throw him under the bus.

Looks like that portrait of Lisi "The Rat" you painted is becoming more apparent. Short of entering in to the witness protection program, I can't imagine how he plans on living out the rest of his life without having to look over his shoulder.

Meaningless to citizens, yes; not to his family. All I was saying is that Tim Hudak is probably a good family man and friendly guy in his personal life. Don't let his politics act as an all encompassing measurement of who he is as a person. It's illogical to call him evil because he has different social views than you. Life isn't that cut and dry.

Funny that you mention that... the thing I've consistently heard people say about Hudak is that he "looks evil". I'm not exactly sure what that means, nor do I think it's a fair assessment. But I'm sure it has something to do with his likability being in the toilet.

Rotary Club? It almost suggests some Masonic element. lol

Police Undercover: The True Story of The Biker, The Mafia and The Mountie.

Police Undercover is the work of Mark Murphy, a retired Mountie corporal, who steered one of the few successful prosecutions of organized crime ever put together in Canada. It is part biography, describing his part in taking down the heads of the Commisso family, one of the major players in what is known as "traditional organized crime" or TOC in the vernacular of law enforcement.

[...]

Many high-ranking officers in the force have never made an arrest or prosecuted an investigation from start to finish. Instead of working their way up through the ranks, the path to high office is one of higher learning, political correctness and kissing the right asses.

But in his book Murphy takes the common knowledge one step further. He has identified a singular connection which explains, to a degree, the reasons our national police force has been remarkably ineffective in the fight against organized crime.

Let me leave you with the words of retired corporal Mark Murphy in the epilogue of his book.

"I feel that many police officers who rise within the ranks of the RCMP do so because of their Masonic connections, not their performance as a police officer. In my opinion, some lack the ability to fight crime, especially organized crime and drug-related crime.

"Many commissioned officers that I know never made an arrest, never conducted an investigation and never had an informant. I can only think they went to the top because they were well connected."

Murphy concludes, "In my opinion the network of masons placed in positions of power throughout the RCMP and other organizations is a breach of public trust."

Explains quite a lot, doesn't it?

IIRC Lisi was introduced to Ford by Payman, but I keep wondering if Lisi was sent or encouraged by someone else to set Ford up. It may have started as a drug hook-up, but once Lisi realized what he had, he decided to cash in. What was in the damn envelopes?

In Doolittle's book it just mentions that Doug Sr. helped found the area's Rotary Club. Please don't extend the Rotary to Masonic etc. I've got lots of family in the Masons and some in Rotary - different things. Both are service clubs, the Masons are a bit secretive and cagey, but neither org would want to deal with shady stuff.

not that different...

I looked up rexdale rotary club and rob ford connections, it led to a link of a video of 3 youth asking councilers from the area to walk a mile in their shoes, it was a video through the Sun but it is no longer available. Does anyone remember it? Or who they were?

is this it?

edit: i posted that before watching, but now see that it's a group of kids, not just 3... so maybe not?

I'm wondering what people think about today's Star story and what it says about Lisi's cooperation with police. There has been speculation and rumor on this thread that he's been working for the TPS. Does today's story dispell, or support that presumption?

On one hand, having to go to apple to seek videos and recordings with a warrant wouldn't be necessary if Lisi merely entered his icloud password. But on the other hand, perhaps Lisi divulged the existence of other videos? (in inclined to think he's not working with cops)

Recently MetroMan informed us of the contents of the "second video" and now we're learning that Lisi did some filming himself. Should we assume that MM's sources were talking about Lisi's videos and not a video from Siad?

I think dispel, personally. As you said, they wouldn't need a warrant if Lisi provided the data voluntarily. That implies an adversarial relationship with investigators, which wouldn't really make sense for someone trying to be an informant to save his own skin.

That's just my non-expert opinion though. I am far from a legal expert.

I doubt it. The cops are only getting the contents of Lisi's phone now, no? The "second" video thing goes back to Blair's original confirmation of the crack vid, IIRC. I think he's referring Siad's selfie afterwards and that MM's posts refer other videos the police may have acquired in their investigations. (Not that the distinction is important. If there's evidence, there's evidence.)
