Really because being able to check in a couple times a day makes it so that "I have a problem." Funny since you said you read through all of those pages.............

The video was recovered on October 29th, two days before he announced it. I would imagine since he consulted with lawyers before having the press conference it took a day to work out all of the legalities, but keep on trucking with your "theory".

Very tantalizing comments by DiManno! From her "you ain't seen nothing yet" comment it would seem that this is not another video depicting drug use but something more lurid - a sex tape. I can't imagine what else it could be after a statement like this from DiManno (who btw happens to be on very good terms with TPS and was probably told directly the contents of the second video). The only thing left to find out is the age of the other participant and perhaps gender ( I always thought that if Ford was ever involved in a sex scandal it would involve teenage boys since he likes to hang out with them so much).

I notice in her article DiManno seems to have some questions about the work done by Toronto Police:

In the end, all those countless hours of surveillance, the untold expense of Project Brazen 2, the hard slogging of cops including Toronto’s top homicide inspector, resulted only in a handful of minor drug charges against Lisi and the owner of a cleaner’s which, police allege, was used as a marijuana trafficking arcade.
An ordinary person might wonder whether there’s one law for small fry, the pathetic druggie riff-raff, and another for the mayor of Toronto, who has not been charged with anything and, unless police Chief Bill Blair is withholding, will not be charged with anything criminally.
Blair has always maintained that his cops would follow the investigation wherever it led. Yet we know now where it did indeed lead; we’ve even seen the photographs. And still Ford remains foot-loose and indictment-free, holed up with his mom and brothers Friday before returning home, perhaps waiting for another anvil to fall on his head.

These are the people who stuck with him through (or even joined him after) the initial crack story broke, and who have direct personal insight into his personal behaviour. Don't forget that a lot of the people are personal friends through football, highschool, etc. They'll stick with him through way worse.
 
Re "legal" ages & such: keep in mind that even if 16 is any kind of age-of-consent, stuff like escort ads still go by an 18-or-over rule of thumb (and unlike porn and sex tapes, what takes place there is "private")
 
I'm quite suspicious about the timing of Blair's press conference. I do not believe that they only gained access to the video a few days ago, but I'm not sure why the release of the Brazen 2 documents would have prompted them to make the announcement when they did.

The cops have been called on Rob on domestic abuse charges, right?
From what I have read here Renata likes to drink as well.
And from what I read in a 2010 Toronto Life article, it seems like she may have mental health issues. too.
Rob definitely has anger issues, and 'women issues'. But I can't really see him killing his wife though.

Who does he really hate? The media? If any reporters go missing, we will know who to watch.

Please no please no please no. How about we just forget about the sex tape? Keep it sealed up. Burn it. The good people of Toronto don't deserve to see something so horrific.

My guess is that he was sending a message to whomever they are really trying to snag.

Cbc did a made for tv movie on it. Colin hired someone to do the murder but he was so arrogant. They caught him and the murderer having a conversation on a farm with whatever 1980 tech they had. Colin just kept saying "deny deny deny.". Sound familiar? Btw colins dad had been a premier as well. Hmmmmmmm

I think the explanation is simple. Without a bombshell to drop reporters would have been asking Blair the uncomforable question raised by Rosie DiManno in her column which I noted above.

It is inexplicable that after five months of having up to 20 officers secretly surveil the Mayor from the air and on the ground at all hours of the day during which time the Mayor and associates were photographed numerous times under suspicious circumstances - Toronto Police did not obtain any warrants to search Rob Fords car or home? Some will say that the police are working on a bigger objective but if that was the case why blow their cover by busting Lisi? The actions of the Toronto Police are inexplicable. Some will say why would Blair protect Ford - they don't even seem to like each other that much. It's not about protecting Ford. Its about being able to control Ford. I suspect that Blair was not counting on a judge making public so many documents that outline the actions of Toronto Police (with more to come!).
