yes - the article follows the provinical naming scheme.. which is confusing. The next segment will be to highway 607 next year.
Think traffic is bad in Toronto? This is crazy!

That would have been about 40,000 cars an hour. Though I guess that would be 40 lanes if they wanted to go home again. So perhaps they were just thinking 20,000 an hour.20 lanes! That's pretty good.
Way to go UK! http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...ned-1-000-driving-60mph-inside-lane-free.html
By the way, does anyone know why the English refer to it as the inside lane when it's clearly the outermost lane on the motorway? Top Gear has never explained that to me :/
The widest the 401 gets is 18 lanes, and the majority of it is 14 lanes. It's still the widest and busiest road on the planet, but it's not quite 20 lanes.
And traffic lights. The 7 km of 401 from 403 to 427 is 18.Not really, a lot of the lanes in that image are actually service road lanes that have sidewalks ...
Not really, a lot of the lanes in that image are actually service road lanes that have sidewalks, it would be like calling the Gardiner a 14 lane road because it has a 6 lane service road. The road itself is "only" something like 14 lanes. The 401 through Mississauga is the only highway that has 18 through lanes.
