I also say Toronno. Funny when i travel to the states some people say i have a Canadian accent. Most of us say the word "sorry" like it's spelled. Americans say "sorry" like "sari " "Oh I'm sari"
Unfortunately, it's actually Australian I believe - originally an aboriginal term for either Sydney or Melboune then later appropriated by Toronto, and numerous other cities (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Smoke).
Mine varies between: Trono or Terono
On the very rare occasion I'll catch myself using the second T. Very rare though. Possibly adopted from my British parents.
