By 'sort of' I meant that the original bronze plaques were remounted on the new monument, while the cross from the top of the old monument is now lying flat in front of it.

I always thought there was something odd about 370 College. I also noticed that the building on the corner of Brunswick housing Caplansky's had matching facade details. Then I found a couple of old photos which show that it used to be one united facade. Not sure what happened to it but by the 1920 the center-right portion was replaced by the theatre. Some old storefronts in Toronto are laced with amazing back-stories, eh?
If we never LOOK UP above the new street-level improvements we can miss some great historical details.
