Miscellany Toronto Photographs: Then and Now

20 years ago I use to live at 22 Monteith st. ;) Renting room in the house of Bill Copps

I had to look this up... the CBC guy of course.

I found a webpage of former CBC TV journalists... Mel Tsuji, Susan Harada [who I thought sort of cute]; seems like I was just watching them yesterday.

Time marches on.

Then and Now for June 27, 2013.

Then. College and Ossington, SE corner. c1915. I can't make out what business was carried on there.

Now. May 2013. RBC could have done a lot more damage had the corporate signage crews come by and insisted this branch comply with branches elsewhere.

What a wonderful film! Thanks for the tip, Mustapha.

As you will know, I've taken a great interest in Vivian Maier's amazing story.

I also look forward to seeing the other film that's being made by John Maloof ("Finding Vivian Maier").

Anna: Thanks for introducing us to the Harvey R. Naylor fonds. What a treasure trove! Here are some of them, which fill in the gaps on the evolution of a block that has always fascinated me, namely the King/Toronto/Church/Court block:

Here's an even earlier view, from 1829. According to Wikipedia, the church above was the 2nd version with the one we have today completed in the 1850s. The image below shows the first version
