GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

Torbram Rd is now 100% grade separated, but not finished.

Surprised Halton Sub separation is still not finish. The handrail for the east sidewalk is missing as well some grading. Looks like still some roadwork for the northbound lanes still to be done.

The Weston Sub northbound lanes are open, but still back filling to be done on the east side, as well the top of the retaining wall. Was able to walk along the east sidewalk. A good chunk of the west retaining wall on the north side in place and could be all in place by year end. The south side is having the base of the retaining wall pour by year end and fully done by spring. By the summer, the whole thing should be finish.

Everyone is now happy as there is no more traffic disruption by trains and the trains don't have to slow down as much before for the construction as well traffic.
They still slow down for Scarboro Street, but i noticed last time i took the train from Bramalea, we were hitting almost 55 km/hr at Torbram Road before slowing down to 40km/hr for Scarboro Street and then after stopping at Malton the train went about 115 km/hr. Around Mount Dennis the train slows down to 90 km/hr.

Why wasn't Weston station built to have access from inside the station building to the tracks above? You know elevators/stairs etc. The current setup to access the island platforms in particular seems pretty haphazard.

Based on the location of extending the tunnel to the east side of the corridor. To do what you want wouldn't see the tunnel crossing the whole corridor as it would hit the fire station. Weston is not the norm for tunnels and platforms, but does the job.

The station and centre platform has stairs and elevators at both ends.

Retaining wall looks decent as these things go.........

Guard Rail is Blah, no points for design there, needs colour if nothing else.

Where's the lighting going?

^ That's a lot of grading they have to do on the west side.
Nope as most of it was done at the same time as the east side. It looks that way due to construction of the retaining wall. Also when they removed the bypass road at both ends,

Mount Dennis GO/UPX Station with lot more up on my site for it and the Crosstown Keeledale, Caledonia and Mount Dennis Stations as well the area with OS up. Testing new cars could start in January

Not sure if they plan on removing the 2 west bridges and replace them, but new pier support next to them. Can seen tunnel to the station entrance and to the station/bus terminal

The video shows a lot of dirt still on the west side. I assume it will have to be moved. That's what I meant.

Will be use to back fill the retaining walls and final land grading. That's standard on most projects like this. Video not working

^ Yes, so dirt on the west side will have to move and it existed there prior to construction starting. Swell, it can be used as back fill.

I always thought they shouldn't bother moving the upx to Eglington. The crosstown is supposed to eventually go to the airport anyways, and then Weston will be left with nothing.

Its my understanding that Weston will still retain the UPX with the addition of Eglinton. They arent moving it, they are adding another station.
