Mayor Crombie to Join Minister of Transportation for an Announcement

Steven Del Duca, Minister of Transportation, Peter Milczyn, MPP for Etobicoke – Lakeshore and Yvan Baker, MPP for Etobicoke – Centre, will make a transit announcement. They will be joined by Michael Wolczyk, Metrolinx Vice President, Corridor Infrastructure.

Date: Monday, April 3, 2017

Time: 1 p.m.

Location: Kipling GO Station – 27 St. Albans Rd. Toronto

Parking: If travelling by vehicle, limited parking is available in the Kipling Station Passenger Pick-up.

Note: This is an outdoor location beside Subway Crescent.

No, but curious by omission is a federal rep or MP. It will be incremental at best....anything for Il Duce to preen himself to the proletariat.

VP Corridor Infrastructure for a station expansion? I guess it's not the worst fit, but a bit odd. I might expect some details, potentially, on application of the federal funds (or, rather, the provincial funds freed up by the federal contribution), maybe some news on the Milton line in general, plus the Canpa sub improvements.

I hope so. The Liberals want to stay in, they need Mississauga and Milton. All day service via an agreement with CP Rail is much better than another station.
 
Won't be anything big to Milton, only two Toronto MPPs attending.

It will be interesting to see whether they are already repurposing the money freed up from RER thanks to the Ottawa announcement.

New station locations and the money to build them? There were a few location considered on the Milton line in Etobicoke and Mississauga: (East Mall or West Mall, Cawthra-Dundas, and Trafalgar).

Kirby Station was approved last week. It may not have been the only one.

What is this talking about exactly? Only King was at-grade recently but that separation is done.

Train layover; is this at West Harbour?

Station modifications: perhaps for through trains east to Confederation station?

The second grade separation was at Valley Inn Road, which is mostly used by pedestrians and cyclists.

Valley Inn Road was never not grade separated.

The two grade separations are at Burloak Dr. - for which an EA is currently underway - and at Kerr St., for which an EA has already been completed but funding had not yet been earmarked.

The "train layover facilities" are likely in relation to the new yard at Lewis Rd. as well as the upgrades to the layover at Hunter St.
