Toronto has stepped into Fall, even if the warm weather says otherwise, and with October now here, the final stretch of 2025 is underway. September’s coverage reflected that transition, with strong attention on ‘supertall’ towers like One Bloor West and Pinnacle One Yonge, major transit expansions from the Eglinton Line 5 and Finch West Line 6 LRTs to the Ontario Line 3, and planning frameworks unlocking new housing density near transit stations. Together, these stories highlight the dual focus on ambitious skyline-shaping construction and the policy groundwork needed to deliver thousands of new homes in the years ahead.
In honour of Spinal Tap II 's release this past month, let's review our top ten eleven stories, database files, and threads from September, 2025.

At #11, attention centred on Etobicoke’s Islington area, where Hi-Lo Investments has submitted plans for a 48-storey rental tower at 4975 Dundas Street West. Designed by B+H Architects, the infill proposal would bring a major injection of height and density to the area, positioned within the Islington Major Transit Station Area (MTSA), only a short walk from Line 2.

Transit and height again dominated readership in September. One Bloor West secured the top spot, with its top residential floor now fully formed. The month also brought major attention to transit expansion, led by coverage of the Don Valley interchange station for Ontario Line 3, while a newly approved height increase for Pinnacle One Yonge’s third tower pushed it further into ‘supertall’ territory. Heritage played a strong role as well, from Kindred Works’ plan for a 48-storey tower to rise from the heritage base of St Luke’s Church, to GWL Realty Advisors' ambitious plans to transform the nearly century-old College Park. Rounding out the list, the City’s approval of zoning frameworks for MTSAs and Protected Major Transit Station Areas (PMTSA) highlighted the policy drive to deliver hundreds of thousands of homes near transit by 2031.
