With new developments constantly under construction in the Greater Toronto Area, as many jobs generally wrap up every month as there are new starts. We track all of this information on a daily basis with UrbanToronto Pro, and with this article we provide a roundup of projects that have recently opened or begun occupying, and which we have switched to completed in our database files.

The Clarkson

The set of two 3-storey stacked townhomes designed by Graziani + Corazza Architects for Haven Developments on the southeast corner of Bromsgrove Road and Stroud Lane in Mississauga, now has residents moving in.

TeaHouse 501 Yonge Condominiums

The two-tower condo development designed by architects—Alliance for Lanterra Developments reached its final heights of 25 and 52 storeys tall last year at 501 Yonge Street. While the exterior is essentially finished up with exceptions like the glass canopy above the ground floor to complete, retail spaces at street level remain vacant for the moment.

Humberwood Heights

The six blocks of three-storey town houses at 50 Humberwood Boulevard in Rexdale developed by Tribute Communities has residents moving in.

Massey Hall Revitalization at the Allied Music Centre

The Massey Hall renovation had its heritage restoration overseen by GBCA Architects, while KPMB Architects oversaw the expansion and modernization of the entire project, which has now mostly been completed. The iconic auditorium is back up and running after the renovation, much of the restoration work having been carried out during pandemic. A number of new public spaces remain to be completed within the expanded complex.

Stockyards District Residences

The 10-storey mixed-use condominium building designed by Graziani + Corazza Architects for Marlin Spring DevelopmentsAltree Developments and Greybrook Realty Partners on the northwest corner of St Clair Avenue West and Symes Road in the Stockyard District neighbourhood has residents living in it.

The Mackenzie

The 16-storey, BDP Quadrangle-designed condominium development from Pemberton Group in Maple has occupancy underway.

Westwood Gardens

The 18-storey, Kirkor Architects-designed condominium developed by Collecdev has recently been opened at 8868 Yonge Street in Richmond hill.

140 Thomas Street

The four storey condo designed by Turner Fleischer Architects for Botany Hill Developments has recently wrapped up at 140 Thomas Street in Oakville.

The Kay

A 12-storey rental apartment building developed by Killam REIT addressed to 1355 Silver Spear Road at Dixie and Burhamthorpe in Mississauga now has tenants beginning to fill its 128 units.

41 River Street

A five-storey, mid-rise, 26-unit rental development designed by Studio JCI for Percy Ellis in Toronto's Corktown area is prepared for occupancy.

Davisville Jr Public School Redevelopment

The replacement of Davisville Jr Public School and Spectrum Alternative School near the intersection of Yonge and Davisville is now complete, with kids attending school in person. The new building was designed by Snyder Architects Inc.

Emerald City: The Point

WZMH Architects-designed 24-storey condo in the last phase of ELAD Canada's Emerald City development on Don MIlls Road south of Sheppard is welcoming residents into its 279 units.

Waterfront Innovation Centre

The 350,000 ft2, Sweeny &Co Architects-designed commercial building located next to Sugar Beach in the new East Bayfront community has recently been opened. This Waterfront TorontoMenkes Developments and BentallGreenOak development has replaced former port uses and will support the emergence of East Bayfront as a prime waterfront live-work-play community within minutes of Union Station. Several firms have begun to move into the new space.

Michael Garron Hospital, Toronto East Health Network

A major new wing designed for Infrastructure Ontario by Diamond Schmitt ArchitectsB+H Architects, and Cannon Design has been opened at 825 Coxwell Avenue in East York, providing the hospital with a more accessible patient drop off entrance, large areas of lawn, and a roof garden for patients, visitors, and staff.

Via Bloor

Tridel condo development designed by architects—Alliance nestled between Toronto's St James Town and Rosedale neighbourhoods is now occupying, with its 38 and 46-storey towers beginning to fill with residents.

The Gloucester on Yonge

Recently opened, the conjoined architects—Alliance-designed masonry and glass embossed towers of 18 and 44 storeys rise from a 4-storey podium on Yonge Street near Wellesley. Completed by Concord Adex, residents are moving into 528 residential suites. Some work is still in the process of being finished up at street level, including retail and a new entrance to Wellesley subway station.

75 on The Esplanade

A 29-storey tower designed by architects—Alliance for Harhay Developments and Carttera Private Equities has opened on The Esplanade in Toronto's St Lawrence neighbourhood, and is now occupying. Architectural finishes above street level retail units are among the finishing touches still to be completed.

Bronte Village

Located in South Oakville at the intersection of Lakeshore and Bronte roads, the Crombie REIT rental development designed by BDP Quadrangle now stands 14 and 10 storeys tall and is welcoming residents.

401 Bay Street

The recladding of B+H Architects' 401 Bay Street by WZMH Architects (and former Pellow + Associates Architects) for Cadillac Fairview has been completed and all scaffolding has been removed from both Bay and Queen streets, with businesses fully functioning inside.
