Our annual Growth To Watch For series is back again, bigger, taller, and more comprehensive than ever before. Over the course of 2019, we brought you to every significant development happening across the 416, and now we're delving beyond into the wider Greater Toronto Area. We're covering everything from brand new proposals, to those inching their way through the planning process, to those already under construction or about to be completed.
A total of 25 reports are highlighting what's happening across the region, with 21 previously released. (Details about how to get them can be found at the bottom of this article.) For a taste of what's offered in the 22nd report, here's a sneak peek at the area highlighted.

Our first Growth to Watch For report from the 905 zone around Toronto takes us to Halton Region, looking at projects in the municipalities of Burlington, Oakville, and Milton. Beginning in Burlington's west end, we traverse the downtown area before heading to northwest Oakville. We then head south and east before finally jumping north to Milton to mention a few projects there.
A range of different project types are unfolding in Halton Region, including large-scale redevelopments like Oakville Green Developments' proposal to construct a new Health Sciences and Technology district containing a mix of employment, institutional, commercial and residential uses at Dundas and Third Line in Oakville. The project would bring 14 towers to the area, with building heights up to 30 storeys.
Other plans seek to capitalize on existing transit to bring higher density developments to the suburbs. One such example is an 8.5-acre parcel adjacent to Burlington GO station, bounded by Drury Lane to the east and a car dealership property to the west. Purchased by Brookfield Property Group in partnership with InterRent REIT and CLV Group in June 2019, the site is expected to be built out with a future mixed-use proposal.
Much of the development in Halton takes the form of mid-rise condominium housing, though taller buildings are becoming increasingly common in certain municipalities like Burlington. Downtown Burlington is home to a growing collection of high-rise developments including ADI Development Group's approved Nautique Residences, Carriage Gate Homes' 2079 Lakeshore Road, and Reserve Properties' 409 Brant Street to name a few.
New Growth to Watch For reports are being released on an ongoing basis, each covering a different section of the Greater Toronto Area. The series' upcoming 23rd report will highlight our immediate neighbour to the west, Mississauga.
