An unconventional mid-rise proposed for Toronto's St. Clair Avenue West and Winona Drive intersection made a splash with its crystalline massing when first tabled last year. Since then, the 9-storey StudioAC and +VG Architects-designed project for The Benvenuto Group was well-received at an early 2019 appearance before Toronto's Design Review Panel, and branding was recently unveiled as it gears up for marketing.
Dubbed Monza Condos, the project is named for the Italian city famous for its stop on the Grand Prix circuit, and aims to blend the bold design and café culture with that of the surrounding Corso Italia neighbourhood. Monza will house 76 units in a range of layouts, offering large terraces made possible by the building's unique form. Prices for the units range from the mid-$400,000s up to $1.5 million.
Residents of these units will have access to common and amenity spaces with interiors by Patton Design Studio, including a private fitness studio, as well as outdoor spaces like rooftop patio amenity with dining and grilling areas. Other features include ground floor retail, as well as a bicycle storage space and repair station.
The project's presentation centre, opening this September, will double down on the project's theme with complimentary espresso made with Monza’s own trademark coffee. Along with expected items such as the scale model, the sales centre will also pay homage to Monza's racing history: visitors will be able to get behind the wheel of a vintage Lotus Grand Prix race car.
