Isn't interesting that Toronto and the 5th largest city in North America would have the 3rd largest transit ridership and transit signal priority in some form on nearly all its surface routes (bus and streetcar)?
Also, all of Los Angeles LRT lines are not in streets, like Toronto's "LRT" on Spadina or most of Transit City. In fact, they are either in freeway or former railway rights of way with grade separations or mainline railway style lights and gates, so they already have "transit priority" by not having traffic interfere in its operations.
