Union Station: Northwest PATH Expansion

I wonder when will work start to enclose the moat near the entrance to the NW PATH extension?

I'm beginning to think that enclosing the moat isn't such a great idea. Just going by your photo things seem more modern and attractive as an open, ventilated atrium/courtyard. Particularly when thinking what a few years of grime, litter, and pigeon droppings will do to this:

Waiiiiit a minute. Are you saying that after all this, there's no tunnel under there?! I thought we were on the finishing-touches part of the project!

Of course there's a tunnel there! I'm not sure what is being done this weekend during the closure of the streets above.

Not really the NW path expansion but I used the connection from Union Plaza through to the Convention Centre south building today....pretty nifty and cool addition.

Pardon for not taking pictures, but I must say that the new entrance to the PATH on the island at York/Front looks spectacular. It seems practically finished with both the elevator and the staircase entrances encased in glass (both have granite "bases"), while there is a tall illuminated PATH pylon (not sure how else to call it) with city info.
Also, the new stairs from Front St to the future Union Station moat at York St is coming closer to completion. The staircase looks similar to the one built on the eastern end (at Bay). Both staircases are clad in granite.

Maybe I'm dense today, but what is Union Plaza? And why can't I think of this connection.

Essentially, Union Plaza is the back door of Union Station by the ACC/Maple Leaf Square/Telus Building. This connection was previously built to take people over York Street from Telus to PWC .....now it continues on through the Bremner Tower and to/past the new Delta Hotel and over Simcoe Street to connect with the Skywalk just a bit east of where the door to the South Convention Centre is

Love that they posted a PATH map. It's been a while since I've used the PATH regularly, but is this something that is happening elsewhere in the network?

The public realm is nicely finished with the natural stone finishes. I like that they're taking risks to create something less sedate than we're used to in this city, but the sawtooth pattern of wall cladding seems somewhat gimmicky.

Not quit sure what you mean. Lots of maps posted in the PATH. But that's not particularly new ... at least a decade or so I'd think.
