Seeing the 501 & 504 on Parliament St was something, especially trying to go south. It was a mess. Try telling the Queen folks to go to the Parliament stop to catch the 501 and looked at me and keep looking for that car that wasn't coming. Only one person took my advise and the other 20+ just watch cars turn west onto Queen.

Was on a car where the driver lay on the horn when he saw 2 different time cars going to blow the open door. On rider was almost go hit as they about to step off when the car blew the doors at speeds in excess of 50 km.

Cars were passing the 504 on Gerard in the westbound lane while we were going east of all things.

I know people might make fun of this, but couldn't we implement some kind of barrier that would come down at the back of the streetcar to block on coming traffic?

Correction to this:

Although the system may operate for substantial periods in manual mode (such as the majority of the winter), it is currently operating in automated mode.

New bus-mounted cameras catch more than 1,500 vehicles in M15 SBS bus lanes since enforcement began Oct. 7

Edit:
Should note the fines are too low and need to start at $150 and sliding up at $50-$75 for each infraction after the first one. $150, $225, $300, $375, $450. Them, most don't care since they have deep pockets in the first place. Maybe adding a few lost points should be added for each infractions will do the job.

Since they have started this program, ridership has jump 37% along the lines of King St program.

Agree that each repeat offender should get an increase in the fine. Not just based on the license plate (singular), but the owner of the plates (plural).
 
Sooo, there's big emergency shutdown on the subway this afternoon.........because....

"there is no subway service between Lawrence and St. Clair stations on Line 1 after construction work may have damaged a tunnel, according to the TTC.

Engineers are determining the extent of the problem and whether any structural damage was done.

Stuart Green, spokesperson for the TTC, said the damage is believed to have occurred between Lawrence and Eglinton stations after a private contractor drilled through a concrete subway tunnel liner."

What makes the situation even worse is the shoebox of a bus terminal at Lawrence. The station was never designed to be a terminus.

This will be the daily situation if the DRL/Ontario Line/whatever you want to call it isnt built and complete in the next 15 years.

Torontonians should start to get very well acclimated with this, and for many of those people the blame can go right to themselves.
 
TTC tickets, tokens, and passes will no longer be sold at stations

The TTC will be ending the sale of tickets, tokens, and passes at collector booths next month (November, 2019).

According to the transit commission, the sales will end on November 30, 2019, but customers will still be able to buy tickets and tokens at “some third-party retailers.”

“While customers will be able to continue using previously purchased tickets, tokens, and passes to pay their fare, those people who do not have large quantities of tickets, tokens, and passes remaining, are encouraged to move to a PRESTO card now to avoid potential line ups for cards on December 1,” stated the TTC in a release.

PRESTO cards are available for sale at Fare Vending Machines in all subway stations, all Shoppers Drug Mart locations, online, and through the PRESTO App, or at the TTC Customer Service Centre at Davisville Station.

The TTC said that PRESTO card customers have access to benefits, including paying the lowest fare by default, being able to hop on and off the TTC within a two-hour period without being charged a second fare, and the ability to use one card to pay a fare across 10 other transit agencies that use PRESTO.

At this point, the TTC has not set a date as to when it will stop accepting tickets, tokens and day passes.

“Since refunds will not be provided, customers are encouraged to use their remaining tickets, tokens, and passes as soon as they can,” they said.

The GTA Weekly Passes can be used until December 1, 2019.
