Oh wow!

Decommissioning of trolleypole-compatible infrastructure on TTC streetcar routes.

Streetcar route sections completely incompatible with trollypoles.

The beginning of a new era.

I'm worried about the impact that this will have on the heritage PCC cars. Maybe the TTC should put pantographs on them? El Paso's new streetcar line has done it!

El Paso is in Texas, across the Rio Grande from Ciudad Juarez in Mexico.

Your point still stands.
Perdon. Discúlpame. Tienes razón. But dam there are a lot of ugly streetscapes in that part of the world. Didn’t notice it when I lived there. But it sure screams from that photo.

Pantographs are definitely the way to go. Funny thing was that as a child I used to enjoy watching the trolley poles navigate turns and the "clickety clack" sounds they would make at junctions. And of course the inevitable disengagements and watching the poles swinging freely.
