TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

Well the 2nd shoe has fallen on BBD and where will they be in 5 years if BBD can't get this reverse.???
Commerce Department gives Bombardier 219% duty on sale of jets to U.S. airline
The same place they are now or probably better. Bombardier's most profitable department is rail as it's one of the principal suppliers for the UK rail system, supplies many vehicles for light rail and heavy rail systems in Europe, and produces the double deck passenger cars used by many operators in North America and Europe. The rail division isn't going anywhere anytime soon or even in 5-10 years.

Even with the Alstrom-Siemens merger? Do we see BBR's history of late deliveries eventually eroding this last pillar?

Even with this merger, Bombardier is still the 3rd or 4th biggest supplier of railway equipment in the world. That isn't likely to change anytime soon. And that supposed "history of late deliveries" is largely confined to North America - elsewhere, they have been as reliable as everyone else.

If anything....if they are currently 3rd or 4th and two companies ahead of them merge they will move up to 2nd or 3rd :) ;) #alwayslookonthebrightsideoflife

Alstom is considerably smaller than Bombardier, although I think Siemens is roughly the same size - I can't keep track of which one is bigger anymore.

"Meanwhile, rail unit Bombardier Transportation (BT) may need a partner at some point to compete against the new European giant created by the deal between Siemens and Alstom and China’s merged rail behemoth, CRRC Corp Ltd. (601766.SS). For now, it has the heft to stand alone, analysts and company insiders say.

'Suddenly the chess board has changed but Bombardier is not small,' said a source familiar with the matter."

Well!, 4446 is here, leaving TTC 2 cars short for delivery this month.

4445 just spent the last 5 hours doing St Clair. If the car not out tomorrow, it could be in service Friday or Sat.

Stadler been buying a few companies with Vossloh the latest and a good fit for both or going with CAF.

4444 is back on St.Clair doing test runs.
Thats the first I have seen the car out of the yard. They just did a break a Hillcrest.

4445 was out all night on St Clair and return to the Barns after 7 am by the way of College, Bay, Victoria and Queen. If it not in service tomorrow, then Sat and ahead of 4444.

Does anybody have a tally of what routes the new streetcars are regularly running on?
Current routes are 509, 510, 512 and 514. 504 is the next route to see cars this year subject to delivery. Cars do show up on 504 on the weekend, but others can say more since I don't follow routes. None on 504 at this time.

4441, 4415, 4419, 4425, 4436, 4434 currently on 512.

That was during the winter months they haven't been on it since the may 24th weekend when they started putting them on 511 in preparation for having them on it for July and August all day. However, with the upcoming changes during the testing of plans for king street, they will probably want as many of them as they can get out on it every day.
