These are a week or so old now. This is not the prettiest stretch of Lakeshore Road in Mississauga, but at this point, knowing that the final look is still a long way off, I don't see where there's been any real attempt to create a public realm that will be sympathetic to drivers here, let alone pedestrians.

whats with the large excavated bit? the renders show it as a small single storey structure.. is it sewage related or something?

A sign on Lakeshore says a pumping station is also proposed for the site. My guess is it's that.

As it stands as Oct 11, Pet Smart, BMO, Coffee Culture, Great Clip, M&M, Popeyes, Lakeview Dentistry, Sunset Grill have lease space along the Lakeshore with more to come.

No idea who will be the lead tenant here yet.

I wonder if the franchisees did any market research here. KFC shut down just a stone's throw away years ago, and ironically a walk-in clinic took over the building.

If you haven't been following, since Nov 7, Walmart has replied to inquiry to confirm it has NO plans to open a Walmart at this location. Supposedly they are still obligated to the lease, so they'll be subleasing the space as office space (they won't be leasing the store to a competitor, if you are thinking that).

BMO, the Nail Place, Dental and Coffee Place are the only place open at this time. Pet Smart could be open next week. No work taking place on the other lease places.

The whole site is open to the public

The UnWalMart is pressing ahead. Ten retail companies on their directory led by PetSmart at the west end and BMO at the east end.

The developer has thoughtfully provided a bench facing the storefronts so that passersby can kick back while contemplating the future. No takers on a subzero Sunday.

Extensive landscaping on the east side connects the development to Lakeview's second most important feature, Cooksville Creek. On the other side of the creek, a big housing development that will presumably provide some regular customers

Not likely to need second-level parking in the near future
