Construction activity continues on the north side with the reinforced deck going in and more wooden forms and rebar are set up for the next concrete pour.

Interestingly, this upper level of new glass will enclose old office on this floor of the North Office Tower,.... but the South Office Tower will see similar new glass and patio treatment for new restaurant overlooking Yonge & Sheppard intersection.

Anyways,... the northwest corner pictured above is supposed to look like this (closest corner) when done,...

I didn't get a picture this morning, but they've started putting up the cladding for the new structure along Yonge Street.

I hope they aren't planning painting that concrete black as it looks bad now. It will be all black if the continue to use black glazing.

Wondering if Drum118 felt a strange chill taking that last photo,.... standing on site of former funeral home (a number of those in North York Centre)

Anyways,.... last photo also shows framing for new TTC accessible elevator shaft,.... here, you can just see the metal roof of the current on sidewalk TTC accessible elevator shaft,...

What changes has Riocan proposed for Sheppard Center? Seems like a costly proposal as construction continues at a fast pace based on plans set years ago.

Most of the latest revision mainly relates to greenroof, landscaping (thankfully more like HullmarkCentre VS EmeraldPark), utility, etc,.... but also redesign to ChildCare facility.

Anyways,.... originally RioCan had new replacement rental (apartment) units going on roof above Dollarama/TimHorton part of SheppardCentre (along Sheppard):

Then last year they installed outdoor play area for the day care here.

Latest revision is for 2 storey Non-Profit ChildCare and Family Service community space. But as you can see, this new 2 storey structure is a decent size! Definitely enough space to host a LCBO store and more!

Ok,... so why does this matter???? The Non-Profit ChildCare facility and Family Service community space are part of Section 37 Community Benefit for RioCan's Yonge-Sheppard Centre (Councillor Filion was really giddy about scoring 10% here since he had RioCan over a barrel); it's worth about $20million given the amount of "retail space" RioCan has to turn over to the City on 99 year lease.

Anyways,..... Given that this Non-Profit ChildCare facility and Family Service community space has been relocated to the top of the roof here in the latest revision,.... it must have freed up the exact same amount of "retail space" elsewhere (agreement with City specifies exact size for Non-Profit ChildCare facility and Family Service community space must be and it's from retail space!),.... again, a good size amount of retail space that can easily host an LCBO store,.... so if LCBO has finally given up on their already renovated over 2 years ago but still haven't opened EmeraldPark LCBO store,.... hmmmm,....

This "new" structure has been in their site plan for a long time, and it's not freeing up any retail space. They have two separate child care facilities going into the mall. One is on the third floor along Sheppard, the other is on the second floor along Greenwood. Even if you did free up one, it's not big enough for an LCBO. Those two facilities are 6,500 square feet and 7,500 square feet, respectively. Their Emerald Park store would've been more than 10,000 square feet.
 
Forms are placed for the final stage of the elevator shaft and a view of the set concrete after forms removed. Rebar staging area and placement. Next big pour of the new deck.

New town-homes fronting Sheppard; I took a look at a 1 bedroom and found it lacking in space with a small bedroom. Bathroom finishes are basic, nothing luxury there. The appliances are good quality but they used cheap plastic laminate sheeting on the floors. There's a large outdoor deck but you won't have any privacy as the apartment balconies overlook it. There will be a lobby built off Sheppard and an elevator from the homes to the parking garage. Rents are on par with Forest Laneway. There's a long waiting list for these homes and Riocan has a strict vetting process for prospective tenants.
